I am always more concerned that we replace them with someone of sufficient quality than how much Whelan makes (or doesn’t) on the deal.

Yeah I feel the same. I just wish for once that he would use a decent amount of the money we get for said player on someone who is proven in that position.

Unfortunately, that ‘someone’ is not always readily available, but we can’t complain that he hasn’t put his hand in his pocket this summer.
And maybe N’zogbia won’t actually leave.
