Wyke was superb today and dare I say the lads seemed to play with a new freedom not seen for a good while.

Wykes problem is not scoring goals it’s staying fit, we’ve no replacement. Both goals were strikers goals at both end of the spectrum.
Got to give Pearce a shout, there’s not many left footers can whip a first time ball in like him, the one he put in for our second was on a dime, top draw stuff.In a report he says he did (understandably) struggle for fitness last season – especially after the setback he endured.
Hopefully, with a pre season behind him, a fully fit Charlie Wyke will score goals with the right kind of service – a la, the cross from Pearce.

The funny thing is it’s very easy to imagine the sad bastard sitting all on his Todd looking up stats and pressing his calculator buttons with one hand and performing the old five knuckle shuffle with the other.
