Let’s all get behind them today. Act as if we are top of the league, plenty chanting ang singing and proper get behind Graham and the lads.
He’s one of our own….let’s remember that. “Always believe in Barrow…he’s magic…you know….”
Pride in our club. Pride in our shirt. Pride in our badge….and what we are, and where we have come from. Everyone get so behind them…because Villa lot will make a right din, in a packed away end.
Encourage everybody around you…whether in West, East or south stands. Play our part and encourage the lads. Come on!!!

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!18 March 2017 at 5:13 pm #157016Like what you say VAT because that is how we feel. We love our club and have pride in the badge but of the players these days who would you say had that same sense of pride we have?
None of them. It’s a job. They would all have shown that pride between August and now. The main motivation in most of the players these days is ££s and contracts. The Tommy Gore’s, Ian Gillibrands and Alex Cribleys etc etc have long gone from football.
However, good shout VAT but it’s getting towards prayer time now.18 March 2017 at 9:26 pm #157026Hey, I just want to say a very big well done and bravo to our support today.
I felt we really got behind them…it was the best home atmosphere for a while and everybody who attended today deserves a round of applause for their efforts.
Was no moaning, no doom and gloom, just everybody behind the lads.We didn’t get the result we wanted, and as the games run out and the equation gets bigger, it’s likely we will be in league one next season. But we regroup, keep supporting the lads, and Graham or whenever gets the job, and do our part in picking the lads up again.

It’s fair to say the likes of Bogle and Morsy didn’t ever dream of playing for Wigan Athletic, as kids. This is probably a similar story at most clubs, bar 5 or 6 of the top ones.
But maybe if Barrow does get the job, he can be one to instill a sense of professional pride in playing for Wigan Athletic. You mention Alex Cribley. You can rest assured that when Alex was a young lad at Liverpool, he never dreamed of playing for Latics. But fate took over and brought him to us, and he made the most of his time and talents at the club. It gave him a very steady career and income. If Graham Barrow takes over the reigns permanently, hopefully he can instill some sense of who we are and what we are as a club, something he has talked about this week, from his own playing days at Latics.
The club has always seen close links between the players and the supporters and that’s the key to Latics, there has never been a massive gulf between the two. OK, maybe a few of the premier league seasons went a bit that way, but the secret to us is the closeness between the players and supporters.
We need to rebuild that.
19 March 2017 at 2:09 pm #157065Agree with what you are saying vat. It did return last season. Sadly this season has seen a return to the doom-mongers resurfacing. Admittedly it hasn’t been great this season. But yesterday with the support the home fans showed, what a shame that couldn’t have happened all season.
The support shown yesterday SHOULD be shown EVERY game of EVERY season – through good times & bad. No wonder opposing fans always sing that our support is full of manure.
