I am going to start using the designated cycle routes dotted around the county with my 4yr old son, there are plenty to go at and all motor vehicle free ! When I get some time I am going to do the Guild Wheel route that takes you round the outskirts of Preston and is 21 miles long but I wont be taking Ethan on that one ! I think that the commuter cyclists have more road sense than the leisure cyclists that take to the roads of a weekend !
19 January 2013 at 12:34 am #100400Blizzard conditions, ice ,wind and still we have these OCD idiots cluttering up the roads causing fekin hazzards at every turn.Still seeing them without lights and vizwear ploughing on to work in arctic conditions risking their lives and others so they can brag about how hard they are when they get into work.
Enough is enough! :angry:19 January 2013 at 12:41 am #100401I bet there all on drugs..
19 January 2013 at 12:48 am #100406Yet despite the blizzard conditions you still get lunatic drivers going above the speed limit jumping light etc etc
19 January 2013 at 2:50 am #100422You wanna try coping with them daily as a pedestrian and driver in London mate.
Am sick to death of the pavement hopping, no lighting, black wearing, traffic light and zebra crossing jumping, traffic weaving, wrong lane riding, limp arm signal waving “environmentalists”.
At least make anyone who wants to cycle take a test and possess a licence and a registration plate like any other road transportation. That’ll soon cut the numbers down and improve safety.

To be fair galac its not just cyclists who drive like morons in London.Bus drivers, taxi Hitlers and white van men also show signs of utter lunacy at times. As a trucker who has experienced the delights of the capital ermm NOT,it has become as bad as places like Milan,Rome or the famous Peripherique.Thats before we even get to the motorcyclists. A cycle should be treated as a small car when overtaking even tho it drives you round the bend when they are 2 or 3 abreast.Over the years I have witnessed the most extreme cases of bad driving, the worst example probably being the tool on a motorbike who was weaving all over the road on the M1 and who put out his leg and steadied himself on the underrun bar of my trailer. This was in queueing traffic and he was slowly winding through the slow-moving lanes when he was wobbling all over the place and put his leg out and kicked off my said underrun bar. Had he missed the bar he would have been dragged under the trailer and I would have crushed him. My charts would have then been taken away for analysis even though it would not have been at fault I would have been under investigation.Whether we are in a car on a bike, bus or cycle we all are guilty of bad driving at times.

Its the new breed Griff that are p/ssing me off-you know the sort we all do.Type of people who bought a Latics season ticket,Stadium coat,Kit etc when we got in the prem then deserted the following season after the first relegation scrap and have never been since.
They buy the latest i phone even though they are up to their scrawny necks in debt and hog pub bars like the Borekett droning on about price of puncture kits and dynamoes.
Next year they will be into something else that comes on telly and the bikes will rust in their sheds if they live that long!!!!!!!

 [/quote]I’m a new cyclist but it was nothing to do with Wiggins. All to do with wanting to keep fit, having dodgy feet that stop me pounding the streets and finding a few hundred quid to justify buying a bike.
But you’re right there are some sensible ones and an awful lot of arseholes. A bit like Latics fans, as you say
