West Ham equalized yesterday, to make it 3-3 at Hull.
Emile ‘5 goals a season’ Heskey scored a late equalizer for Villa at Burnley.
Utter B***ards!
Those two goals cost me the grand sum of £135,219.87p on a 14 match accumalator.
That would have been a nice Christmas bonus!!!

F**K me how much did you have on it? I tend do do 6-8 team accumulators and only get odds of 100-200/1. Usually just put a ten dabs on it
25 November 2009 at 1:32 am #13807I did it online through William Hill and did a 14 match accumalator.
They worked out the odds, and that’s what it came out at. They added loads of bonus percentages and stuff on it. It was gonna be long odds of coming off. (was bloody close though!)
I only put a stake of £2.75 on it, and what a win that would have been!
25 November 2009 at 1:54 pm #13839You stood to win £135,219.87p on a 14 match accumalator from a £2.75 stake yet 2 of your games were Villa/Burnley & Hull/West Ham?????
If that’s true, me & the missus need to change bookmakersI don’t do the long accumulators (prefer to stick to 5 or 6 games where I win less but more often) but she won £2,500 on a 10 game accumulator last season on Bet Fred’s bonus section. If the only 2 you lost on were relatively low odds like those 2 games then you must either have had some real long shots in there, are talking bull or William Hill are very generous!!

[turns calculator off]
I was thinking that myself, but my maffs isn’t strong enough to work it out.
Best I ever did was a 10 match accumulator returning £1035 for a £1 stake (last of the big spenders, eh?). Cup semi final weekend 1996, my 3rd ever go at the fixed odds. Never won jack since.
25 November 2009 at 3:28 pm #13844I should point out as well that she had £2 on to win £2500 back which is only 75p less than VAT69 but would have won over £130,000 less
The Bet Fred bonus coupon is split into 5 sections which are supposed to rank from the easy ones e.g. Celtic v Morton to the harder ones e.g. Northampton v Crewe so it isn’t as simple as picking the 14 easiest games on the coupon.
Anyway its normally minimum odds of about 25/1 to pick 1 from each section to anywhere between 600/1 to 1500/1 to pick 2 from each section
To win £135k from £2.75 is odds of 49171/1 which seems a hell of a leap for an extra 4 games25 November 2009 at 4:24 pm #13845I know, I was surprised as well. William Hill online, it was.
At first I thought it said £13,521, which would also be great, but I couldn’t fathom the extra digits of 9.87 behind it. I looked again, twice, and it had my estimated return of £135,219,87p.
William Hill were putting bonuses on, obviously because you had less chance the more games you backed. I backed 14.
Can’t remember every game I backed now, but Isome strange ones, such as, I think, Huddersfield, Rochdale, Swindon, and such likes.
I was unlucky really. What a return that would have been.
25 November 2009 at 6:31 pm #13848If the odds on every game averaged out at even money (which it sounds like it might have if you’re backing the likes of Rochdale and Huddersfield to win), a bet of £2.75 on a 14 match accumulator would net you £22,528.
So there.
25 November 2009 at 6:33 pm #13849Ive been there myself!
The weekend Man Utd lost at Turfmoor id done a £1 accumulator on a pile of matches and i mean about 30 plus!
Low and Behold the one result that let me down was Man utd. However in the meantime i had a email saying that they would only have a liabilty of 250,000 on the bet anything over that they wouldnt pay out!
I also had another one on for 18 grand which was let down by us beating chelsea although i wasnt too bothered!
Im not a gambling man incase you cant tell!

I’m guessing the odds of Burnley to beat Villa were 2-3/1 and Hull would have been about 7/4, so the odds would stack up, particularly on 14 teams.

They would but when you’ve got Rochdale at, say, 4/6 and Huddersfield at 1/2 it offsets it a bit. £135k is a remote possibility but you’d have to have more than one Sunderland/Arsenal type of result for that to happen.
26 November 2009 at 2:44 am #13893No, the estimated return WAS given as £135,219,87p
Honestly. :o
I was puzzled by it as well, but who would complain? The online bet gave a bonus percentage on each match selection. Don’t understand it, but that’s what it said!
Was very surprised as my first two picks were United and Chelsea, so bad odds.

Oh I cant tell with all them Full Pounds flying around haha. I cant see how that would add up to be honest VAT… I did a 6-teamer yesterday (inc. 2 draws, one of which was everton so i didnt win.) Put just a fiver on it and i would only have got 150 quid. Most were favourites but couple were close and a draw is more or less always getting you higher winnings.
26 November 2009 at 10:12 pm #13918What can i say!lol!
I dont mind a bet at the footy but im not one for having a bet just for having a bets sake!l
