If you’d put a comma after the word ‘test’ in the first sentence, they’d have both been correct.

(Has anyone read the book ‘Eats, Shoots & Leaves’? It’s a must for punctuation nerds. Everyone else will find it unbelievably dull…..guess it’s just me that’s read it.)
