Just read in the paper that he is probably going to be given a rare start for watford against QPR were did his career go wrong if he stayed with us instead of jumping ship on the eve of our first season in the prem he would now be a top top player he had it all pace good in the air could do the unexpected and could score goals

7 December 2009 at 5:06 pm #14720Married a Bosnian-Muslim. (On a Friday before a game. How? Why? Crazy.)
Converted to being a Muslim.
Changed Diet.
Fasted For Ramadan.
Affected Form.
Agent put big ideas in his head.
Grew a beard and put on about 2 stone.
And there you go.

7 December 2009 at 7:15 pm #14746Looking back he was the biggest waste of talent ever. After scoring 24 goals in the Championship, he had all the qualities to be an awesome striker. Especially up front with Jason Roberts, those 2 complimented eachother brilliantly. Same what’s happened to him.

7 December 2009 at 7:39 pm #14752I think the Duke might have gone on to be a similar kind of player. Nobody should peak at 24, if it wasn’t for his agent. He would have only improved and would be in his prime about now.

But when Bent joined Charlton, they were a similar age, both had scored lots of goals in the championship, both similar types of strikers. Bent stayed in the Prem and improved to reach his potential. Ellington didn’t that’s the only difference.

He had a little extra in his locker, better in the air, better finisher, good penalty tecnique. It makes you wonder how much better that first season could have been.

7 December 2009 at 7:57 pm #14759Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying, why don’t you use your common sense and read the rest of the post.
