Hope you get satellite TV coverage of the Euros in your luxury yachts floating around the Caribbean and witnessed the pure guts determination and pride the Welsh lads showed tonight. Sterling/Sturbridge give me Robson Kanu anyday. Bow your heads in shame England.
Strange though that all three of the Welsh scorers tonight were English. English born and English bred with Welsh grandparents.That said. Tricky for England to pick a Reading player who has just scored 3 goals in the championship. They’ve beaten Slovakia, Russia, Northern Ireland and Belgium. Can’t remember any of those sides doing much in major tournaments. Wales have done brilliantly but think a few are getting carried away. Their side of the draw is particularly weak. If only Roy hadn’t made those six chances!
Can’t agree…….too many Bertie big bollocks England players.Not as good as they think they are….All individuals ,no togetherness. Wales,Iceland doing it the Leicester way…..playing to a system with players who work their knackers off….Oh and a decent manager. …not the dinosaur we appointed. ……Howe for me with an Alardyce or Redknap as guide.
If Roy had not made the changes and by some chance we had beaten mighty Slovakia and won the group we would probably have come unstuck against Northern Ireland but who knows. Only thing we do know is that something radical needs to happen at the very top of the FA and with the management and coaching ideas and personel. The players we are told are meant to be world class but they lack class, motivation, natural flare, personality and need to look at their attitude.
Will something radical happen? I very much doubt it while Sky and The Premier League pull the strings of all the yes men puppets and greed merchants who leech the goodness out of the game.The secret is, don’t play players that are not 100%, don’t play/shoe horn players in to fit around others, play them in their club positions. Don’t play players who are not in form. Don’t rest inform players on your final group game, their at a major tournament they don’t want to be rested. Don’t drop the system you played throughout the qualifying games.
On this , Sterling, Wilshere, Sturridge and Rooney would been on the bench. Vardy, Drinkwater lallana,(prob are best player) Rashford M.O.T.M against Iceland , all 5 minutes of him I would have played him in all the games.
We needed Carroll there as well. People might argue not good enough but he would have thrown a spanner in the works with 1/2 hr to go and with Vardy playing off his shoulder I personally think we would have beaten Iceland.
We can point the finger at those above I mentioned but also Ali and Kane never set the world alight in their games.
For me, we built it around Rooney who does not suit the deeper role. If there’s no room for him up front then it’s time for a change and ged rid.We talk about another foreign manager, why ?, for me these players don’t need coaching they need a system and motivated. 5 years ago I would have laughed at the idea of Bruce or Fat Sam but for me fatsam is the perfect replacement. His man management skills are second to none along with Bruce. Every player who’s played under Allardyce has said so and he seems to get the best out of every team he’s managed.
Right now I don’t give a flyer about pretty football, it’s got Spain and Belgium no were. We need to just win and put some pride back into England. Long ball ?, I don’t care if they drop it from an f**kinn Easyjet plane going over Wembley as long as it goes inVery good and obvious to us all Cup Winners. I reckon with those ideas the best English players from Latics and Burton with Caldwell and Clough managing/coaching them could have won that group or qualified and had the guile to beat Iceland.
Time to stop putting average players on a pedastel and calling them super stars when they are obviously not.I don’t get this hype with Alli to me he was average at best. On Carroll, a lot of us would have had him there but one of the glaring faults we had was the poor quality of crosses so would Andy have been the difference?. I actually felt sorry for Rooney how the hell as captain was he supposed to rally the team with the pathetic decisions Woy was making?, he must of been fed up like the rest of us. No wonder he had a bad time of it along with the others who must have all been scratching their heads in disbelief. Hodgson has to go down as the most clueless England manager ever.
On Wales last night, had to laugh at Belgium. It must be the first time a team has ever played without any centre backs. Every time Wales got into the Belgian half they looked like scoring. A team who are actually worse than England at the back hard o believe I know.
