Please, please, please do all you can to sign Wilchut on a permanent deal. Cant remember a player at wigan who has excited me so much in a long long time.
18 October 2015 at 6:06 pm #145389The more the lad puts in great shows the less the chances we will sign him. He belongs to a Championship club and they will either call him back or his wage demand will not match that of what Latics can meet. It is a shame but that is the reality of the situation.
19 October 2015 at 12:11 am #145394Think his contract is up September 16 at Boro, so if we can extend his loan until the end of this season we could be in with a chance? Problem we have is he sticks out like a saw thumb at the moment, and if he carries on then Boro will probably not extend his loan. Which could scupper our chances.
21 October 2015 at 10:32 am #145428By all reports and from seeing the goals on Sky it looked like another great game for him last night at Peterborough. It would be good to keep him. He must put the fear in defenders when he is on one of those runs. Can anybody remember a player at Latics who could burst through from deep in the field to create chances for himself and his team mates. Gets the old grey matter going that one.
21 October 2015 at 11:46 am #145429Keith Gillespie?
21 October 2015 at 12:06 pm #145430The last time I turned up at a Latics game not knowing any of the players was the 6-3 demolition of Chester when Gillespie beat Chester pretty much on his own. I checked out who he was and found he was a Man Utd youngster which kind of explained the gulf in class between him and the other players!
For the first 30 minutes last night Wildschut was utterly unplayable when Wigan wewre going forward, which they did at will. He did seem to go off the boil a bit after Posh changed their tactics and actually put the Wigan defence under pressure – I guess defending isn’t his strong point at the moment, which may explain why he’s out on loan, as the higher up the football pyramid you go, the more is expected of your players.

We’ve plenty others who can do the donkey work.
I think we should at least try to secure the loan move till the end of the season. It’s gotta be good for both parties because if Bro do go up he’ll be more than likely surplus to requirements and if he’s in good form he will no doubt command a higher fee.
As for his wages at Bro ? I’d like bet he’s on less than Holt.21 October 2015 at 4:36 pm #145433By all reports and from seeing the goals on Sky it looked like another great game for him last night at Peterborough. He sure was and how good could we be with Yanick Davies and Grigg playing together.
21 October 2015 at 5:09 pm #145434At the meeting with Gary and Jonathan Jackson last week they were both agreeing that, if possible, we will be looking to extend his loan. It is of course not entirely in our hands.

22 October 2015 at 6:07 pm #145440Issy Diaz was no slouch when he ran at defenders, but with his size Wildshutt must petrify defenders.
22 October 2015 at 10:28 pm #145443Leigh jenkinson was class!
Seriously, on his day – gary teale.
