I see Malcolm Glazer has died.

Wonder what will happen to FC United now their raison d’etre is out of the way? How many of their supporters will now suddenly remember who they really supported all the time.

Most teams like FCUM (dreadful name BTW) are protesting about the corporate hijacking of football and the faux hype surrounding the so called greatest league in the world.
I doubt the passing of the owner will change anything at Utd as his children are involved at the club aren’t they?
the gates have already fallen at FCUM anyway but they are building a new ground in moston which may attract some new supporters and I think Manchester can carry a small club as an alternative.
I hope they keep it going as I remember attending a home fixture in their first season against Ashton town in the North west counties league 2 and over 4000 turned up at Gigg lane giving the tiny Ashton club a great experience.

Correct Vince. The Glazer takeover was the final straw really.

One of their early songs (they may still sing it) was:

When FC Utd come out to play na na
When FC Utd come out to play na na
When FC Utd come out to play it’s 3 o’clock on a Saturday
Cos we don’t work for Sky Sports any more.

From my experience, you won’t find many FC United fans who don’t want Manchester United to still win things
When I did a game there the ones I spoke to after the game certainly still did, Their issues were how the Glazer’s had saddled United with a huge debt in order to buy them & using money which should have gone back into the club into paying off that debt & then a whole range of stuff about the modern professional, top level game around cost & Sky

I doubt many will shed a tear at Malcolm Glazer’s death but it won’t make any of them start to go to Old Trafford again
