Didn’t go to MK and was wondering what formation we played?
7 August 2017 at 5:29 pm #161073Looked like 4-4-2 till sending off. Flat back 4. Elder, Burn,Dunkley and Byrne.
4 in midfield, Massy on right, Evans / Morsy in middle and Jacobs roaming.
Toney and Powell up front. From Matlock to ManU

7 August 2017 at 8:08 pm #161075Sounds very much in the Jewell mold…..442 never thought I would see it again.
Up the tics
8 August 2017 at 12:55 am #161084Well so long as midfielder’s are getting forward in numbers then there isn’t a lot of difference and from the look of Powell’s goal he was pushing up with others too which is great whatevers on paper.
Pompey fans did say Cook had a different approach in home and away games.9 August 2017 at 2:53 am #161092It was a million miles away from 4-4-2 tonight.

9 August 2017 at 3:59 pm #161099It was worth it to give him a run out. He had a couple of good balls to run on to but other than that he was feeding off scraps. Maybe this was because Blackpool were by far the better side and our midfield were pushed deeper I don’t know but they were not coming forward in numbers to support and assist Grigg.

What’s the point in that?
9 August 2017 at 8:39 pm #161101No point indeed. Now if Bogle or the one we’ve borrowed off Newcastle had been on they could have nodded the ball down to Grigg but they weren’t.
Pleased for the two midfielders who got up to score though.
I wonder what style we will use on Sunday when the first team are back. -
