12 April 2015 at 4:19 pm #141141So because we have changed our manager the same bunch of players will immediately transform themselves into great ones overnight????
I admire your (misguided) optimism but face it we are relegated albeit not mathematically I grant you but to expect this dire bunch to suddenly hit blistering form overnight is beyond comic book expectations!
I’m sorry but it isn’t going to happen and pointless pontificating about the ridiculous notion that it might, face it ,it isn’t that bad when you do.I’ve followed the Tics since the Gordon Milne era; so you could say that I’ve experienced all of our recent history. And you know what; it’s been great !!!
Yes, I’m prepared for Div 1 and our next unwritten chapter, but it would be good if the unfashionable Latics could once again beat the odds and wave two fingers at the anti brigade; even if we secured our Championship status by three decimal places of goal difference.Hey, it’s only football; life eventually teaches you that. So whatever league we are in, I’ll still turn up to enjoy the social banter & a pint, and maybe three points now and again !
12 April 2015 at 4:22 pm #141143I blame MartinezAgree He should have taken Wheelbarrow to Goodison with him. :)

The football was 100% better, far more attempts, far more possession and a genuine desire to win. It was great to see Penannt and Bongo run the length of the field to celebrate the first goal with the latics fan.
By all means continue with all the negativity if you want, but leave others to hang on with a shred of hope thank you very much.It may be long shot but I’m not going to throw the towel in until we are at the mathematical impossible stage.
Let’s hope the manager and players feel like me and not like you and the other cup half empty brigade, that jumped on here when we went 1-0 down on Friday, but didn’t come straight back on when we equalised.

More or less the same here lostock but i’ve been following since the mcneill days of 1978. Yes i will be gutted & a bit upset if we go down, but like you say, life teaches you that at the end of the day – it is but just a game. Whatever happens, roll on next season.

Like you I would be delighted if we suddenly string four straight wins and stay up but it isn’t going to happen and how empty can a cup be when you haven’t seen a home win for seven f***ing months???
face it just face it !!!13 April 2015 at 4:18 am #141162I’m not saying that I’m pleased, or remotely pleased, with how this season has panned out, I just don’t feel the need to kick them when they are lying wounded on the floor, its my club and I’m proud to support them through thick and thin.
Whatever the reasons are for this absolutely abysmal season and there are many, its not just Fortunes fault or any managers fault for playing him, there are 11 players taking the field and they now have just 4 games to restore a bit of pride.
I’m sure you would all feel better if you chilled out a bit and focused on Tuesday then next Saturday. Lets see what happens, if its relegation then so be it, if we miraculously escape the drop then great. If we go 1 down on Tuesday there is no need for anyone to go off on one on here, sit on your fekin hands if your listening to the match commentary and hope we get back in the game. :cheer:

What a journey!13 April 2015 at 10:45 am #141163let’s see what they do at Millwall first although not very optimistic as I’m sure we haven’t won there for years if ever.
that said I am prepared for league 1 and all that brings but for now I just want a bit of pride back and they really need to break that awful home duck before the season is out.13 April 2015 at 3:09 pm #141165I think 3 wins will do it personally.
Rotherham:
Fulham (A) 0 points
Norwich (H)0 points
Reading (H) 1 point
Leeds (A) 0 pointsThat puts them 8 above us. We beat Millwall, Brighton and one of the other two. Voila!

Nice one Eggy; now take into account a three points deduction for fielding a non registered player.
13 April 2015 at 11:50 pm #141184Can’t take that into account until it happens.
14 April 2015 at 12:23 am #141186Can’t take that into account until it happens.Think your spot on Egg and I can also see a long legal case unwinding. The powers that be have to get this absolutely right. Trouble is we are right at the end of the season and this has a huge bearing on the relegation issue.

Maybe that’s why we fired Malky.
Without MM, it’s less likely to predjudice the creeps in the FA into a spiteful attempt to do the Latics over ! -
