The internet have already got him installed as our new Manager
Just check Google & Wiki.8 March 2025 at 10:18 am #205326Just seen that, however Wiki can be edited by anyone so someone could be taking the piss, there was a photo doing the rounds yesterday with him at Wigan train station dressed in a tracksuit and trainers, you wouldn’t expect anyone to turn up for a interview dressed like that unless he’s had the formal interview and was here to do a mock training session as part of the process.
Something a bit odd, I wouldn’t rule him out just yet, it would prove a good statement from the owner if true, that’s why I’m not holding my breath on this one.
Fuck the EFL
9 March 2025 at 6:56 am #205330I heard he was visiting the rugby to have a chat with Matt Peet regarding sports phycology motivation all that melarky
9 March 2025 at 8:19 am #205331Given the way the club has been ran over the past season it wouldn’t surprise me if they stayed with caretaker set up until the season is over especially after two clean sheets and 4 points from 6.
9 March 2025 at 9:46 am #205332I honestly don’t see the point in rushing the process. Normally a manager is sacked and new one appointed to come in and “Save The Day” and tbh were pretty much safe bar a disaster.
Were 10 points clear of 21st place and a game in hand and 13 points clear of 22nd place.I get the last 2 performances weren’t very good but that’s not G.Whelan’s fault that’s the squad he’s inherited. He has limited choices and quality to choose from so he can blame his tools.
What fookin annoyed me was I heard one guy say quite loud in the stadium:-
“Wtf is he coming on for ? he fookin sh*te (Cze)!!”.
I never heard a bad remark about Taylor after he missed 2 absolute sitters but to target the lad a lad we’ve hardly seen.Cze’s a young lad who needs games. I heard he’s had 1 or 2 off the field issues and the lad needs games and his confidence back not remarks like that.
Cze was banished by Maloney for whatever reason so it was good to see the lad back.
As for a new manager?,
Whoever gets it needs money there has to be funds made available. The squad isn’t good enough. I spoke to a friend who’s a life long Preston fan and he said about Ryan Lowe:-“He’s a very good manager but get ready for some slow boring build up always played out from the back football”.
And I thought, were have a seen that before?
Déjà vu9 March 2025 at 10:25 am #205334The goal difference is healthy so you could say 11 points clear.
The more I think about it I think they should just see the season out with this set up and review over the close season.
Like you say CW no point in bringing in a shake em up manager that might even upset what seems to a steadying ship at the moment.
They have some winnable games coming up and some very tricky ones especially the one on April Fools Day.
As for that prat slagging what seems to be a vulnerable young footballer then shame on him and I bet he’s never even kicked a ball in his life.
Football grounds seem more and more to be full of these clowns unfortunately , using the arena and situation to try to prove their very sad and inadequate machismo.
Good luck to Glen and his team and well done on results so far.
His surname might well be a lucky omen9 March 2025 at 10:55 am #205337What would be the point in sacking Maloney in March to put a caretaker in charge until the end of the season? We may as well have kept Maloney.
The reason for the sacking is the early bird ST’s are out in a few weeks the club well know that crowds are dwindling and fans may not have renewed under Maloney and certainly not while Whelan is in charge.
A new manager may give fans a change of heart and they’ll renew, I expect a new manager at the helm next week.
Not many will renew until the club have made assurances.
Fuck the EFL
9 March 2025 at 11:17 am #205338Spoke to a member of the coaching staff before kick off…..asked him about Cze…..obviously didn’t go into the personal reasons why he’s been absent but stated with some conviction “the lad seriously is some player”…..he made a difference when he came on ,actually won the ball that eventually led to the goal and dragged the defender out of position several times.. Rather give him a chance with some proper game time than keep doing all the development work for other teams…frankly most who’ve been sub standard. Give the lad a chance…..you know we might had a solution hiding in plain sight.!!!!
9 March 2025 at 12:57 pm #205339I remember him linking up well with Stones in some p*ss arse trophy game and the thing is, he’s at that age like Lang and Aasgaard did were he’ll start filling out and becoming stronger on off the ball.
Me?, I’d Def get him in and link him with Taylor just behind him. But wtf do I know
9 March 2025 at 4:04 pm #205340Linking Sze with Taylor is what should have happened yesterday not a like for like swap late on.
The East Stand thought the same with chants of ”you don’t know what your’e doing” and a few boos.Fuck the EFL
9 March 2025 at 11:36 pm #205342I’ve said it a 1000 times, Taylor isn’t a forward, if he was we’d have been 2 up Saturday. He works hard and creates space but he’s roll is to link up reminds me of liddle in a way.
Cze’s missed an awful lot of football so he’ll be playing catch up with the first team
