Heard last week he’d had a bust up with Maloney and had his contract terminated.
I think Maloney has pissed a few players off this season.
Fuck the EFL
To be fair I did not really rate Goode. Didn’t think he was any better than what we already have. Don’t know if he was carrying an injury but his lack of pace cost us a few times. Don’t know if it’s a fall out or Maloney just telling him he was not part of his plans.
It’s official, he’s gone back but it doesn’t say why. Again, I wasn’t impressed with him, we leaked an awful lot of goals when he started a game.
If it was a bust up then there’ll be zero chance of him coming back for next season, plus he’s out of contract in the summer with Brentford.
But a strange remark from Maloney which hints to a bust up, quote:-
“Wigan manager Shaun Maloney said: “Charlie is not in contention at the moment; he’s gone back to Brentford.”
He has been so for him to suddenly not be means some handbag swinging has took placeThe very next line reads
“It’s a personal reason, we’ll see what happens”
Then when asked if he’ll be back at Latics by the end of the season he replied “Maybe”
How do people get there is a bust up from that? Talk about people creating an agenda over what could be nothing other than a family problem back home?
He’s hardly likely to come out with :-
“Yep we had a blazer, he’s done, he’s a dickhead and he’s more chance of platting a turd than coming back.”
Rumour has it he was unhappy at not been played when Kerr was picked in front of him especially with him out of contract he needed to be seen.
Is the rumour true? I don’t know whether it’s bolloks. I cannot see him coming back for one final game especially if he’s not trained all week, he’ll not get picked anyway so utter pointless.
I didn’t like him, when he came and got straight into the starting line up we did fcukin nothing but concede.I never saw the point bringing him to Wigan we had Hughes Morrison Watts Kerr was coming back and even Claire had previous experience at centre half.
There was this thing Prem player experience talked about him.
He’d played 55 games in 5 years which I’d class as he learning and prime years, I don’t class that as experience.I agree with you regards his affect on the team. Had more poor games than good games (Bolton being his best performance).
I just think people are reading too much into why he has gone back early
Like I said it was a rumour but for whatever reason it is I hope he’s not back on a free next year. I just don’t think we’ll get anywhere near his wages.
But you never know in this game
He was Goode (if you pardon the pun) to bring on for the last 15 – 20 minutes to help see out a game. But he wasn’t Goode (if you pardon the pun again) enough as a starter.
