      Do you think he has?

Did he ever have it in the first place? Do a lot of the players think they are bigger than Martinez?

Are there some serious ‘in club’ problems?

I think so, but at the end the day the backroom staff hasnt helped, how do you expect the likes of nzogbia, scharner melchiot to name a few take orders from the likes of jones and barrow, it shouldnt happen but it does even in the work place, you cant take orders of someone who hasnt a clue.

Not sure it’s a case of him not having a clue, but there is probably more an element of “who does this bit of a kid think he is?” going on.

To answer the original question, I don’t think he ever had the dressing room and yes, a stronger back-room staff would help.

Still no excuse for players not putting in a tackle all night and swanning around (Scharner) doing nothing. Watching a 12-year old full back waltz past 4 stationary Wigan defenders was laughable. I really don’t mind them being sh**, but not trying is inexcusable.

Thanks fella’s for some good answers to my post.

At Swansea, they were talking to players on their own level.

At Wigan, you get an ex Doncaster/Latics striker and an ex Latics/Walsall/Motherwell/Chester and Swansea midfielder trying to bring improvement to the likes of Melchiot*, Edman, Scharner, etc, who have played at a higher level, in World Cups, and such like.

If you were a certain ‘Carlos Kickaball’, and you had two numpties who were never good enough to play higher, trying to tell you what to do, how would you react? Exactly.

I wonder how many of our players asked “Who are they?” when they were recruited. Sorry fella’s, and I know they played a big part in our lower league success, but it’s true.

We’ve gone from having a manager who did it all, as a player. Even his assistant, Eric Black, played in a European Final (Aberdeen V Real Madrid 1983 Cup Winners Cup Final), to having a management team of lower-league journeymen. I can’t think of any other club that would have done that.

*Melchiot- never seen a captain as less motivational, as he is. I mean vocally and with his actions. He should be leading us with his ‘heart on his sleeve’ with his experience. But no.

I agree I don’t mind us being sh@t either, but having no spine and no aggression is unacceptable. A team like Utd need to be hassled and harassed and given as little time and space as possible. The team also needs to be more direct instead of being obsessed with retaining possession and giving our opponents time to regroup in midfield and at the back.

We should have played 4-4-2 last night and used route 1 to bypass both midfields and put their very good, but rusty defence to test.

£60 + (1 adult, 1 junior, 1 programme) to watch that shower of sh@t last night. Mind you if I was a Utd fan I’d need to re-mortgage paying that every week as well as parking fees and £3.10 for a can of budweiser.

Down the tunnel – slightly to the left.

                Marked “Home Dressing Room”.

                Easy! Easy!

I know 4 a fact most of the players want the best 4 Wigan & respect Martinez, Jones etc. Although, a big name has worked in the Youth Team with Dave Watson as dere coach.

                  WE WONT GO DOWN !

I don’t buy all this “I’m not doing anything for this fella as he hasn’t played at the top” He is the manager. The role is to manage and everyone is answerable to him…period! If people don’t like it, they should be dropped.

I suspect that one or two players should be dropped but who do you replace them with? Bruce did it with Sharner last season but had the players to replace Sharns.

I reckon Bob is right when he says it will take a couple of Transfer Windows to get this right – I think he knows the players he wants to phase out and I think that this will be Mario’s last season as captain.

Although I was questioning Bob’s ability after watching us field some people on the pitch at OT, I think he will still turn this round – I hope he gets a creative midfielder as we don’t seem to be doing much with three ball winners in our midfield.
