Whelan?
Yes – Deluded media rants (you saw it here first), Says/promises one thing but does another, Can’t see ambition and progress for the £££s in the way
No – Spent £2m on Bob, Too shrewd to run his only real money spinner into the ground,
Bob?
Yes – No top flight experience, can’t gee up fringe players for a cup game (it’s his job to do that BTW), can’t shut up shop after conceding in the 3rd minute, conference quality backroom staff, no leadership
No – Still learning, Whelan pulling strings, Not ar5ed about carling cup
Players?
Yes – no desire to play CC cup football in windy wet blackpool, most aware that they are unlikely to ever be in starting 11 in prem
No – no leadership, no plan b, not “gelled”, game over before it really even started
Support?
Yes – booing vs Wolves (shameful), not turning up, too high expectations, moaners
No – unlikely to have much influence on such a new team
Other teams?
Yes – Villa must have been AWFUL, Wolves wanted it more, Utd too good, B’pool seizing an opportunity
No – of course not – the issues are all internal
I’m sure there’s many more I’ve missed on both sides and on all areas, but it’s too late and I’m too pi55ed (off) to think. Bottom line is that you can’t pin it one thing and there’s not one root cause. Believe me, I’ve been readin all the posts and trying to find an answer, and its the most divided I’ve ever seen this message board be (even more than several non football topics – which is a refreshing change in itself).
My advice? Rather than moan/worry/goad/continue your false optimism, do the only 2 things it is in your power to do that will have any chance of any impact:
Get down to the book signing if you can and hurl some abuse at Whelan, as its the only way he’s going to hear the truth
Get to any games you can and get 100% behind the team for the full 90
