On the subject of yesterday’s game something happened that I reckon sums up referees attitude to the big clubs.
There was a clash of heads between Evra and the Villa player , Clarke. Both players stayed on the floor and Clarke actually had blood seeping from a head wound. Now we all know nowadays that if a player stays down with a twisted sock the ref will stop the the game on H & S grounds. However with head injuries they MUST stop the game. When this happened yesterday the ball broke to Rooney near the half way line and United were starting an attack. The ref actually waited until Rooney gave a stray pass to a Villa defender and only then did he stop the game to see if the Villa player was still breathing.
One rule for them – another for the likes of us.
