From a point ahead of Burton to 7 behind in a week
2 December 2015 at 2:03 am #146026Yes, that’s what I thought. But at least there is time for them to change again! Before long!! At least the MillBrawl didn’t win … for 2 reasons, 1 being that it still kept the gap between 6th & 7th. and the other … they didn’t win.
2 December 2015 at 11:08 am #146027That is why (obviously)it is essential to get on a running run and also to start beating top half sides. We are in there but look nothing like a side that could win this league. Compare us to the last side we had that won this league and we are quite a way off yet but a few wins on the trot with a few confidence boosting goals from the strikers(if they play and not warm the bench)and we wont be far off. This league was never going to be easy and we should never expect to walk it.
Hats off again to Jimmy Floyd at Burton ,he certainly knows how to win games of football. I don’t think he even has the luxury of keeping the sort of players we have had on the bench recently either but they work for him and whatever he does it works.2 December 2015 at 12:17 pm #146028Hats off again to Jimmy Floyd at Burton ,he certainly knows how to win games of football. They are a relatively new club, with a small fan base, surrounded by larger, more established teams steeped in history who look down their noses at them, like they are an irritable fly. They have a “community” feel about them, from their small ground, to the lack of big-time charlies on the playing field.
Hopefully, if they make it further up the football pyramid, they wont sell their soul to the devil and pack their squad full of overseas merceneries at the expense of the local talent.
2 December 2015 at 12:42 pm #146029Won’t last long then will they. Now troddle on.
2 December 2015 at 1:08 pm #146030Australians and Kiwis are very local Makem!

You mean, you and your ilk preferred it when we were “a lovely little club choosing to earn their profession in the back yard of rugby league”?
I honestly can see where the jealousy and dislike comes from.
Losing their famous ground and having to pay rent to Whelan Athletic and when we started to rise to the top and took over the hearts of the town, the nation, the media and then we dared to get to the Premier League and win the FA Cup in the process becoming genuinely recognised worldwide, not just by a couple of blokes in Alice Springs.OK we’re in League One now, doing quite well and hopeful of a promotion but if it doesn’t happen just yet, I for one will always take massive pleasure in knowing that WRLFC have to lodge and pay rent to us and that they became the proverbial green eyed monster, just because we chose not to be just a lovely little club kicking a ball around in that famous back yard.
WAFC,pissing WRLFC of for……well quite some time now. Long may it continue.
2 December 2015 at 1:49 pm #146032Jeez fellas, those chips must weigh heavy on your shoulders.
It is not allowed to compliment a smallish club who are doing well, whilst sticking to their principles? Are Wigan Athletic the only club allowed to rise through the divisions and win the FA Cup? Are you jealous that the likes of Bournemouth are doing so well?
(and I think you’ll find that Wigan Warriors pay rent to the owner of the DW stadium, which is not Wigan Athletic FC).
2 December 2015 at 2:03 pm #146033No chips here, just worms and they’ve turned.
We can say well done to Burton, Bournemouth whoever, aint no problem in that. You? Nah, just makes you look even more green eyed than ever that you feel the need.
I did read on the WEP the other day that you aren’t allowed to comment on here, that you get banned etc. When was that exactly? If we had chips, I’m sure you’d have gone a long time ago, say like a certain RL site.

They are currently a League One club, and have one local lad in their squad (but he’s on loan at Telford), so if they rise up the leagues, the chances of them packing ‘their squad full of overseas merceneries at the expense of the local talent’ is pretty high.
Poor attempt Mutty.
When will you realise that there are millions of footballers out there all competing for a relatively small number of professional contracts, so the chances of a small town’s team being filled with local lads is extremely slim – whereas Rugby League is played in a dozen postcodes, so the chances of a team not being filled with local lads is extremely slim?
But I’m guessing you already realise this.

You’re right, it’s not. It’s to the people that own Wigan Athletic.
