It’s down to wages, simples, most players now in the lower league move for near nothing it’s all about what can I make a week.

It’s nearly broken us high wages on a few occasions so I agree with get the dead wood out and bring in less money players.

The bit I don’t get is, some of these loanees (not all) ain’t cheap to loan plus some have clauses in the loan deal appearances etc.

Plus, a fair few players we got on loan and a couple we signed have zero experience in league football. They’ve come straight from playing U21 football.

So if someone at Latics can explain to me why Stones and Payne were loaned out while we paid (no doubt decent dollars) to bring in young inexperienced players basically giving them the experience these young lads need I’d be all ears.

If we’re to become self sufficient then we need the nurture our own and slowly wean them in. The Stones saga is Maloney dummy spitting.

Always remember it was Toure who gave Hughes a chance. If it was left to Maloney I’m positive he’d have been stuck out on loan and would be still here back n forth on loan.

You see, Maloney’s been stitched up thinking once all the big earners have gone he’ll have a budget to bring in a few journeymen in, that hasn’t happened.

Is Stones good enough? I truly don’t know but if he’s asked to be a headless chicken like Taylors been asked the Stones is better off leaving.

Rumour has it he wants a permanent move to Oldham and given the opportunities Maloney’s given him I don’t f**kin blame him I’d do the same.

I’m fed up of posters constantly blaming the owners for the recruitment when it’s all down to Maloney. He wanted Hugill and Silko he wanted too many shit wingers and it was him who tried to sign a forward who was always going to be unavailable. Yes the owners have a lot to answer for but not for the absolute dross on the field week in week out. Maloney cannot coach that’s why Stones and Sze haven’t progressed. His boring tactics his ridiculous changes. All the real reasons we are abysmal where it matters on the pitch. All this talk of backing him in January when we should be sacking him now. Personally I wouldn’t trust Maloney with any cash. He has lumbered us with this current squad.

Some good points there Ste, but personally I don’t think they will sack Maloney he’s doing the work of about five people so saving the tight arse ownership money in wages.

Now that leaves the owners between a rock and a hard place, they must know by now his recruitment has been shite so are they going to trust him with anymore money in January?
Or do they sack him with 18 months left on his contract and pay him up along with the coaching staff, bring someone else in who will more than likely cost more, or do they crack on and let Maloney stay as manager plus doing all the other jobs he has got lumbered with?

The hierarchy have got to make a decision and bloody quick.

        Fuck the EFL
