Followed the Tics for a Zillion years.
Sneered and jeered at by Knob Enders, Red Scum and Fatty Eggs.
But, would I swop it for anything; not on your nelly.
Following the Latics From N Prem to Prem to Cardiff to Wembley has been nothing but kin brilliant. And the best thing is that that the real Latics feeling is beginning to emerge again. I feel so kin excited it’s unreal. The biggest “little” club in footballing history; fact !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7 February 2016 at 2:07 pm #147076Yup I agree with you …. but …..
As only a supporter since 18 Aug 2007 I don’t know what you mean by the ‘old’ ‘tics feeling prior to then, but the feeling I’m getting now is great … good football, players who have a real desire to play the game, enthusiasm to just keep going and a great atmosphere around the ground on match day. There was so much negativity, always a relief when we got at least 1 point and sometimes only a half hearted contribution from players …. I remember Moses v Wolves, it was as if he couldn’t be *rsed. Haven’t seen that yet this season.
Blimey I was just looking at my first ever game, in the sun, and in the team were Sibierski, Laandzaat, Grankvist, Koumas, Fitz Hall, Skoko, and Dave Cotterill. ‘OOO R Yu’??

Ive followed the latics since the 1978/79 season as a 6 year old. Obviously i cannot speak for anyone else but i’ll share with whoever on here what i said to a colleague in work only on friday.
My reason for enjoying this season is not the winning of games (though i am enjoying it), but we have a team this season who play, work & fight for each other. They never know when they are beaten.
What you said about the players yesterday about their enthusiasm etc, takes me back to my first memory of a team who played this same way like the latics team from the 80’s of lowe, newell, jewell, aspinall et al – all young lads who played for each other & with so much passion. The last time i have seen such a team spirit was the championship promotion team of ellington, roberts, mcculloch et al.
This season is a throwback to the good old days of watching latics where i am turning up to games (work permitting) out of pleasure & not a chore like it was for me towards the latter part of our premier league days & especially the last 2 seasons.
It really doesn’t matter to me if we win, lose or draw (mmmmm i’ll rethink that one), but its just great to turn up & watch a game of IMO good, honest football with no jonny big bollox rolling on the floor when he gets tackled.
I say well done to Gary caldwell & graham barrow for assembling a team with so much spirit & desire.
