I feel totally let down by the UK advertising commission.

I decided to have a look around the net, in order to see if the adverts we see, where somebody is portraying an ‘every-day’ situation, actually have any truth about them.

I was pretty sure that most would be made up scenario’s, featuring actors playing a specific role, geared at creating empathy from the viewer.
One advert I had in mind, was that ICS learning advert, where the woman has been off to drop a kid, has got bored of watching Jeremy Kyle and This Morning, and in desperation to get back out to work, she has taken an ICS course, and become a “Working mum at the nursery”.

To be honest, I quite fancied her, in a ‘Milf’ kind of way, I.E. young child on the go, husband working shifts, and a reliance on Kit-Kats to pass the lonesome hours beyond the child’s bedtime. I quite fancied her because despite being a relatively new mum, she was making an effort with her appearance, with a nice hair clip, and a fashionable coat with a ‘retro’ circular print pattern. I imagined her to be quite a giggle, especially after a few glasses of Wolf-Blass.

But oh f***ing no! She’s a FAKE I cry…..FAKE!

So, as well as reading the weather, presenting on TV shopping channels, etc, etc, she STILL has time to do an ICS course, and then follow it up by going working in a nursery, does she?

I don’t think so. I think I preferred the image of her as a bit of a plump MILF, to be honest. But the illusion is shattered.
