I wonder if deep down some of the ” Lightsiders ” will be hoping his replacement fails so they can say that there was nothing wrong with Bob ! I had always hoped Bob could work the oracle and turn things round but for various reasons he has failed in my view. Keeping us up by the skin of our teeth because other teams have capitulated on the home straight does not quite make him successful really does it ! If he manages to do it again this season we will lose a couple more players and bring in more sub standard players due to the financial situation at the club ! It really is a catch 22 and so therefore the drop wouldn’t be the end of the World really would it ! Dare I say it ( Again ) that the double drop wouldn’t be that bad either and would certainly give us something to go for ! I am done with this constant relegation battle stuff as it has become akin to Groundhog Day !!

He says he loves the club, then he should call it a day for the good of the club
4 March 2012 at 11:25 pm #82457Just out of interest what do people think of Ian Holloway as a manager?.
Most people I speak to seem to think he was a revelation last season. Check to see who Blackpool are playing next week, I think its Peterborough. He got them up, then gracefully took them down. :woohoo:
Martinez is looking for his hat trick of successfully keeping Wigan in the top flight. goodpostAs for the comment by Filmoss about the L/S wanting a Wigan manager to fail, then you clearly don’t understand what being a fan is about. No matter what your views are, its not about players, managers, chairmen etc its about our Club Wigan Athletic.
Fans, players, chairman, managers, tea ladies, kit cleaners will come and go, but Wigan Athletic will still be the team I’m 100% behind till I cock my legs up.From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!4 March 2012 at 11:32 pm #82458Anonymous

5 March 2012 at 2:25 am #82507I wonder if deep down some of the ” Lightsiders ” will be hoping his replacement fails so they can say that there was nothing wrong with BobNo, because I’d hazard a guess that most, if not all, would still support the team if El Hadji Diouf were appointed as player manager.
Whoever becomes Wigan’s next manager will receive the same support from me as Martinez now, Bruce before him, Hutchings before him etc.
5 March 2012 at 2:25 pm #82516So how come fans hated Maurice Lyndsay ? Should we have not been behind him ( No puns please ! ) all the way regardless of past comments ? And Mr Fatfan, I did say ” I wonder if ” and ” Some ” Not exactly a sweeping statement was it !

And Mr Fatfan, I did say ” I wonder if ” and ” Some ” Not exactly a sweeping statement was it !Personally, I’d have supported Maurice Lyndsay if push had come to shove.
When he made his ‘infamous’ comments about Wigan Athletic he was a Wigan RL employee, so of course he was going to look after the best interests of his employer. At the time he had no affiliation to the football club, and saw them as merely his nearest rivals for attracting local support and investment.
I understand why some people hate him, but I’m sure there are others who post on here who didn’t give a toss when he was employed bt Wigan Athletic as long as he did a good job.
Maybe it’s just that I don’t get as emotional as other posters.
