We had a Joe Taylor of our own,a striker with the right service would hit 20 minimum a season in this league. Then again created that goal today himself….. picked it up halfway line . Same at Blackpool went half the pitch on left touchline before hitting the post. Again against Plymouth ran 3/4 the pitch before getting shot off. He has an explosive turn of pace and very rarely doesn’t hit the target. A resilient performance today against a side who on boxing day I thought they were average. Never really troubled us just needed the 2nd to seal it. Great performance from Vickers and a stunning finish and a shout to Weir who I thought was excellent. All in all a million times better than the mess against Plymouth….every player lifted their game…….also thought our supporters brilliant considering the unnerving sale new earlier this week, certainly can’t do our sales pitch any harm.

14 March 2026 at 11:46 pm #2070574 home games, 3 clean sheets. I love to see Aimson and Kerr doing what they’re good at…..defending instead of Aimson being asked by Lowe to practically play winger
Weir and Vickers were outstanding and linked up brilliantly first half. I think the only misplaced pass from Weir was the very weird kick off
Taylor’s ability to run at goal at pace is proper football and great to watch
My MOM was the young boy Chapman though. He’s stood up strong against some seasoned pros but what I like most is he gets the ball and his first thought is always to go forward instead of being safe and going back to Tickle
Nice to enjoy a Saturday with a decent game and a win behind you
15 March 2026 at 8:50 am #207058A fantastic all round performance obviously the goal scorers will get the brownie points but I just thought everyone worked their socks off nothing more than hard work and 2 bits of skill saw Bradford off..
Murray was keen to go one on one which was good to see,
Raphael I think is slowly improving and isn’t scared of putting a toe in but I’m glad Weir got a mention. A lot of fans don’t realise the work some players do off the ball.
Some fans (and rightly so) only remember the 25 harder or the free kick in the top sack but Weir does the unsung donkey work off the ball that alot of the time goes unnoticed.
The one thing I loved was Vickers tackling. He absolutely frustrated Humphrys to bits for the 15 minutes they faced each other regular toe poking the ball away in the tackle.
For me we still lack that creative player in the middle of the park. We need to be able to get the ball to forwards higher up the pitch rather than asking them to run half the length of the pitch and score.
Is Costelloe injured or frozen out ?. I thought he would have been a far far better option than Saydee purely for his energy pressing and chasing the ball across Bradfords back line or even Bettoni who (hope I’m wrong) won’t be here in the summer.
If I’ve one criticism it’s Caldwell micro managing players, telling players were at stand telling them move 5 yards here there etc but that’s just me.
As for Bradford ? I didn’t rate them on Boxing Day when 2 reds cost us the game and again, I didn’t rate them yesterday.
Anyone who meets them in the play-offs will be rubbing their hands over two legs but that’s no concern of us. We just need to keep clawing points out the bag and if we lose hope and pray others around us do the same.

15 March 2026 at 10:56 am #207060Wasn’t expecting much yesterday after the Plymouth debacle but that was a great performance yesterday.
Taylor got the main plaudits with that brilliant solo goal and you can tell he loves playing at Wigan going off his celebration yesterday.caldwell seems to be getting a tune out of these players now and he isn’t afraid to throw a young player in either.
That will be the way forward this summer and the club needs to really intensify its youth policy now.
16 March 2026 at 7:26 am #207062Some of these young lads will grow up overnight similar to how Aasguard went from a skinny runt to holding off seasoned defenders.
But these lads need minutes, they need competitive football. Chapman has quietly surprised me and he doesn’t look out of place in the starting line up.
I saw a few comments from Huddersfield fans regarding Taylor’s unturn in form and most were sour grapes which I’m sure will filter back to the player.
I wasn’t quite sure about him when he first came but he’s slowly grown into the role and with abit more support on the field he could hit another 6-8 before the seasons out.
Danson saw yesterday what a decent manager can bring to the club and offering free seats. Surely it’s better for the big important games filling those empty seats and being in the extra revenue elsewhere on match day.
I hope Saturday was a big advert to any potential buyer and what’s possible both on and off the field.
Now we need to get it right Tuesday
