nice to know who the landlords are mr IL

I was told something very interesting the other day. Saracens RU can’t play at reading anymore as they have gained promotion to the premier league this term. They have to find alternative accommodation as a new rule has come in to force recently (which i didn’t have a clue about).

If we do end up dropping to the championship. Upon our return to the top flight (which we will), according to the new ruling put in place recently, Our lodgers would be required to find alternate accommodation just like saracens RU have to do. It is not enforced now as a club has to be relegated in order for the new ruling to take effect

We were already in the premier league when this new ruling came in to existence. Therefore nothing can happen until we drop down a league and then come back up. This will activated the new ruling and by authority of the premier league and relevant associates, they will be asked to leave the our DW Stadium and find an alternate venue

Could the fact that the worriers chairman is looking to buy oxfords ground be a last resort back up in light of this new ruling coming into place?

The future is going to be very interesting indeed, worryers fans wishing, praying, dreaming we are relegated from this great league only to find it will actually screw them over

Would i play one season in the championship in order to see them made homeless?????????????????

Definitely dear boy, not a bad league the championship (for a year of course)

As scital says Saracens play at Watford, and are planning to move because they want their own ground.

          Saracens to move

London Irish play at the Madejski, and their fixture list confirms they will continue to play there.

          London Irish fixtures

“The Madejski Stadium will host its first match of the new season on September 8th with the visit of Gloucester for round 2 of the Aviva Premiership.”

Just dug out the Premier League handbook.

            Section I – Ground Criteria

Ownership of Ground and Training Facilities
            3. Each Club shall either own its ground and training facilities or have a legally enforceable agreement with its owner for its use by the Club, expiring not earlier than the end of the current Season.

            Ground Sharing
            4. No Club shall have or enter into a ground-sharing agreement unless the agreement contains a legally enforceable provision to the effect that the playing of the Club’s League Matches shall always take precedence over the activities of the other party to the agreement”

So there’s no problem about sharing a ground as long as there is a legally enforceable provision that football takes precedence. I presume this is what we have in place.
