Apparently he was asking for £50k a week. Quite right they refused to cough and I hope Whelan has also refused it.

I think the only reason Whelan has not sacked Martinez yet is because he wont allow him to give out big wages, Hence McArthur, Stam and Al Habsi coming to the club. I think Martinez may be paying for Brucie’s mistakes. King, N’Zogbia, Bramble’s improved contract, Figeuroa, Kapo, De Ridder, Koumas not being sold when he blatantly had no future. The list goes on

wouldnt suprise me he got in touch with his agent and siad tell to go over top on wage demandsso the deal falls through ,then com tusday spud yed comes in last min with 6mill and hey presto whelan takes and we are tatted
