For the first time in about 18 months. I can honestly say that I enjoyed yesterday’s match. It actually felt like a football match and a new era for the Latics.

    • Attack minded players and football.
    • A selection of Forwards to choose from, and who bring different qualities to the squad.
    • An up tempo game, with very little “walking” football.
    • Being brave enough to select young players, rather than restricting them to cameo appearances or Mickey Mouse games.
    • A player that can use both feet; step up Fraser Murray.

All in all, a much better match day.

Let’s keep it up and re-ignite the Latics of old :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

That’s how football should be played, entertainment, goals and attacking threat that’s our DNA not the bilge served up the past two seasons, long may it continue!

      Take a bow Ryan Lowe.

      Fuck the EFL

A great day for Latics, nice to see old school football being played and effort and enthusiasm all over the pitch as well as some very well executed goals.

Play off play placing is what is the best i expect this season in what is an extremely strong division this year , bigger tests to come but that was a very positive performance and will certainly do for starters !

There’s Maloney’s way and Lowes way. Lowe’s reminds me of Jewells were it’s all about getting the ball forward as fast as possible were Maloney’s was the drab possession game were you knock it about trying to create space then wing a 40 yard diag in.

I’m not quite sure why Pompey have let Saydee go. Not only is he a unit he’s actually got a brilliant first touch.

Hungo for me was superb, I think he hit one poor cross in all the game he was M.O.T.D for me.

I was shocked to see Brenan getting a start so he must have been working his sack off in training. I think that sends out a clear message now we’ve 2 or 3 players for every position:

If you put in a shift in training your in. This rings so true with Steven Sessegnon getting a start even though he’s out of contract.

For me it’s a positive, work hard were carrying no passengers.  I won’t get carried away as I remember Barnsley and Derby away and thinking we’ll walk this league but we can all draw positives from that performance very good on the eye
