Criticizing the final kick off time and saying about the cost its going to mean for some fans, especially families.
Well said, Jason. The FA statement saying it will allow more people to watch the game on telly, takes the actual piss out of every one of us, Latics and City fans who will travel down.
Its confirmed. TV viewers are deemed more important than actual match goers.
18 April 2013 at 1:47 am #109836Surely more people in the UK could watch the game when it kicked off at 3pm on a stand alone Saturday?
It’s more to do with the corporate big wigs and Worldwide TV audience.
18 April 2013 at 2:20 am #109862Why do you think they only give 50,000 tickets out between the 2 actual sets of fans who’s respective teams are playing in the final ! Stinks of shit and I will not feel sorry for them when the Prem goes tits up and implodes ! Money has ruined the game and I have never been drawn in by all the media hype re World class players playing in this country its a load of bollocks ! If you want to see blokes doing tricks with footballs then go and watch free styling !
18 April 2013 at 2:30 am #109869thats where ill be watching it on telly ;)

18 April 2013 at 10:20 am #109911A few points I’d raise for the FA:
“The 5.15 pm kick-off time gives more people an opportunity to see the game and proved very popular last season.”
With who? Surely every away fan that day missed some of the supposed calendar showpiece?
“A post-5pm kick-off slot on a Saturday has been used regularly by both the Premier League and Football League for their televised fixtures for a number of seasons.”
This isn’t the Premier League or Football League. There is no “home” team for a start off. This is the FA Cup Final which in the 20 years I’ve watched football has kicked off at 3pm on a Saturday except for last season when it was changed.
“We have been in dialogue with Virgin about travel options back to the North West since before the semi-finals although research shows that only a minimal amount of fans use this mode of transport when travelling to Wembley Stadium.”
Maybe that’s because you make it impossible for them to do so. It’d be like saying nobody at a Wigan Athletic home match orders a Chicken Pie at half time, or only having 10 Cheese pies available and then saying they sell better than Meat & Potato because they sell out.
I think the FA have finally admitted what we all knew with this. Us paying fans actually mean f*ck all in the grand scheme of this sport and the ones that do matter are those who watch in the pubs and at home. They pay highly inflated subscriptions and then football gets highly inflated sponsorship etc etc. Absolute f*cking joke.

5:15 KO just gives more beer time therefore leading to more trouble. Half those Millwall were pished as farts falling over kids.
There’s no doubt in my mind City fans will be in the Wigan end which will be the fault of Wigan fans purchasing tickets for them for their family/mates etc…. . Data base means jack shhitt if you buy them them hand them over. Those found in our end should be immediately thrown out and the seat numbers taken and track were they got them from and ban them as well.
I’ll have a tenner on it goes off again.

Nothing to do with drinking before the game. If people want to fight they will, be it drunk or not

It’s very possible to be drunk before a lunch time kick off
18 April 2013 at 9:03 pm #110003It probably is so why are people still using the 5.15 kick off time for the trouble ?
