Jermaine Pennant? Really?
I’m very surprised as I thought he’d be a little old for Martinez’s liking and I’ll bet he’s on a decent salary.
7 August 2012 at 2:51 pm #91028I can think of worse signings. But I can think of much better, too.

Also, I’ve heard he, allegedly, likes a pint or twelve.

29’s not ancient and he is at least proven; arguably a better end product than Moses has today.
The key to that report was that the clubs have agreed a fee and he is on his way to Wigan to discuss terms – that may well turn out to be the sticking point. All depends on how much he wants to come, because I don’t think Whelan will match what he was probably on at Stoke.

29 – is that all he is? I had him down for 33/34-ish. That’ll teach me not to make assumptions.
I saw him play a few times for Stoke and when he was at Portsmouth and he is a good player. I’d say he definitely has a better end product than Moses.
But, I don’t reckon he’s the type of player to move to a club and take a salary cut to further his career.
‘Hello Jermaine, take a seat. So how much do you want? Okay, we’ve got your number – is your car outside or do you need a taxi?’
7 August 2012 at 4:40 pm #910347 August 2012 at 4:56 pm #91037Ah well, a rumour started and finished before Donnelly even got anywhere near cutting and pasting about it.
7 August 2012 at 7:09 pm #91042Too much of an out and out winger for us.

Not on Tw@tter meself, but if any of you are, please give the big-headed little git a heck load of abuse and make it clear that we would rather our club sign people with a slightly better ability and attitude than he has, and make it clear that he was NOT wanted by anybody at our club, because he is what is commonly regarded as something of a tit.
We don’t need ANY Stoke cast offs. Not good enough for them, not good enough for us.
