Interesting article, and quashes a conspiracy theory or two.

9 September 2015 at 3:09 pm #144658Well it certainly quashes the idea that Everton were also interested him, one guy against the manager and everyone else isn’t exactly a full on interest is it! The phone call Moyes received sounds a little cloak and dagger!! I believe that both managers ( Moyes and Martinez ) knew their respective fates at that time and I reckon that Henry was also in contact with Martinez and knew that he would be going to Everton come the end of the season! I’m not totally convinced that there was a link in all of that business but it does seem to be a bit of a coincidence what with not one other club knowing of this lad’s potential? At the end of the day it will never be proved!

Nah…he’d have been in the Development Squad – loaned out to Bentford with Rob Kiernan, then off on a gimme in the January 2015 fire sale.

Truth said in jest! ;)
11 September 2015 at 1:22 am #144691We certainly would not be looking at the sell on price Everton are talking about. We would probably have let him go for 3 or 4 million which is a little out from the 30 to 40 million Everton are talking about.
