Appologies if there is a score or report on here, but I can’t find one, taken from vital wigan site.
Wigan Athletic 2 – Bolton Wanderers 0

Kupisz the key as Wigan win
On a night more suited to polar explorers, Wigan’s superior enterprise and skill overcame an enthusiastic but limited Bolton side. All eyes were on Wigan’s new Ivory Coast signing Steven Gohuri but it was Wigan’s young Polish star Tomas Kupisz who stole the show with another classy performance which should see him pushing for a first team squad place sooner rather than later.
Latics tore into Bolton from the start with Kupisz , Cwyka and the forgotten man Bouaouzan looking lively. At the back Gohuri looked palpably short of match fitness but in truth was very rarely troubled by the opposition.
Latics for all their first half dominance failed to create any real chances , mainly shooting over from distance where as Nicholls Latics promising (and very vocal) keeper only had one save to make.
The second half saw Latics continue in the same vein and eventually their domiance told when a good break by Bouaouzan put Kupisz in who finished well.
Bouaouzon was involved in the second goal when his break led to a chance for Joe Holt and the young attacking midfielder placed the ball well which secured the three points.
Bouaouzan almost capped off a fine evening when put through but his shot when one on one with the keeper was well saved.
Full time brought to a close a good evening’s work for the Wigan side and relief for the the frozen fans.
Star PlayerTomas Kupisz….week in week out he looks the part and I am surprised he hasn’t been included in Bob’s first team plans yet.
Do any of the 100 eskimos who attended post on here, would be interested on their comments on Gohouri and Kupisz
20 January 2010 at 9:48 pm #18945I think they may have got the wrong Pole in this report.
It was Tomasz Cywka who was the inspiration, scored a great goal and basically looked a class apart. The boy Kupisz played centre forward and was marshalled by a decent Noblot centre Half.

What a journey!20 January 2010 at 9:57 pm #18947thanks for that m8 did you go, if so what did you think of Gohouri, Bouaouzan?.
20 January 2010 at 10:46 pm #18962I posted this when I got home last night after game. The official website is being far to kind to Steve Gohouri.
Bouazzan did ok but gets easily knocked off the ball.
The lad I mentioned with the long hair was Joe Holt. He scored the second goal. From Matlock to ManU

21 January 2010 at 12:48 am #18981Mcmanaman did OK but I think the boy Routledge as a good future ahead of him. We just don’t bring kids through anymore, I can’t remember the last one. Before anyone jumps in, it wasn’t Baines.

Yes Mcmanaman, that’s what he said. Why ask?. He did look very quick at the feet and a decent player in that game at the end of last season you’re right Griff.
23 January 2010 at 2:44 am #19278The new young lad has just come back from an injury so you can’t judge him just yet. The reserves are good on paper and i’ve never saw them lose at Robin Park, but they seem to just let the opposition in late on. Fitness level bad ?
