Came across the site below whilst looking to see how well we have faired in the League Cup since the heady days of reaching the final back in our Prem ‘Rookie Season’ 10 years ago. The link is for our best effort since which was just 5 years ago when Arsenal dumped us out in the ‘Quarters’but there is lots of other stuff to explore and look back on concerning all aspects of English football! I did notice that this site isn’t mentioned as a fans site when you open up the info for Wigan Athletic?
So back to that quarter final, I reckon we could have won that with the players that we had available! Yeah I know it’s gone now but that was a decent squad that we took down the road and maybe we should have done better? We had plenty of possession yet produced hardly any chances and left 5 ‘Game Changers’ on the bench, 3 of which were eventually used, 1 due to an injury and the other 2 when the proverbial horse had already bolted! Anyhow it’s gone now but interesting to look back on!I use it pretty much daily for football fixtures worldwide (click previous or next and it will move you through the days past and future) It has a massive search engine, it’s where I get my Delort and Riera updates from
