They of course deserve to be in the Premier League.

I’ve just come across this – which was in the 1965 FA Cup Final programme (a game that Leeds lost by the way).

Do you recognise some of the phrases used?

Are you saying you don’t understand what I’m posting? Oh dear. :?

My point is that once Leeds United – who are now the lost sheep of the PL who would love to have them because they are “a big club” – were once considered to be a struggling club with miserably meagre support, ambition solely to compete for a few years with the big boys with the height of ambition being to survive as a Second Division (Championship) club.

Isn’t that what is said about us? Almost the exact same phrases.

But they had under Revie a great ambition. And they became “a big name”. Keep the faith.

And now they are back where they came from, so whats your point?

It was possible back in those days though.

These days, unless you have a filthy rich owner its almost impossible.

Also, Leeds always had the potential due to being a city, having a large population and not many major clubs on their doorstep.
