personaly i couldnt care how we manage to win, we should be able to mix it up instead of playing the same way week in week out,
True, we need a plan B but with limited ability on the pitch, it’s difficult to devise one. It’s debatable if we have a plan A at times.
i wish he would just start 4-4-2 for once, at home at least, one up front is dire, hugo just aint suited to that role,
4-4-2 is never going to happen the big issue for me is the amount of times our wingers get round the back and when they look in the box they have one man to aim for. Thats why we never score, Fulham got round the back of us twice, two pull backs and the rest is history.
Appley Bridge – Fair point but I’m not sure if that would be any more successful than the 4-3-3 system for reasons I’ve already stated.
Hindley – I’m loyal to Bob because I think he’s actually a talented manager hindered by a poor squad, I don’t think there’s anyone out there that would be willing to join us and would do a better job with the resources available. We always go through poor stages in a season and some fans always jump on the bandwagon, what’s wrong with showing a bit of support and sticking with it through thick and thin?
Duke, your loyalty and support is admirable and there is nothing wrong with supporting through thick and thin, heres the big BUT ..
When something is so obviously wrong you have got to change it and you just can’t keep nodding and clapping all the time.
Remember the Simpsones episode when Homer keeps getting electrocuted by a cupcake. It feels like that at times!
The thing that is obviously wrong is that the players at the club aren’t good enough, we’re lacking in all departments and getting rid of a talented manager (in my opinion) won’t suddenly change that.
Got to be honest, I’m not an avid Simpsons fan but I’m sure Martinez will feel complimented by the comparison!
yes we have a poor squad, but whos fault is that, surely we cant just keep with the same tatics and formation week in and out, imo our wingers a real threat, but they never have anyone to hit, thats why i say 4-4-2, whats the worse that can happen
This talented manager you talk of is culpable for the bad players you talk of because he signed the majority of them !! Stop trying to defend the indefensible Duke !
Duke Bob signed 90% of the players, if their that bad then surely he has to take the blame for that. So if the problem is of his own making how can you defend him and say it’s not Bob’s fault???? It doesn’t make sense, sorry.
Bob has made poor signings, but we can hardly expect him to sign brilliant players considering the funds he’s been given. I know Bruce and Jewell managed but their finds were mainly down to David Hamilton who was an excellent scout and the scouting team who were very good. Martinez doesn’t have that so he’s relying on his own knowledge too much.
I think the club’s transfer policy is to blame to, we sign players and sell the club to them by saying that we’re a stepping stone. Think N’Zogbia, Cattermole, Palacios etc, so even when we sign good players, we don’t hold onto them and when we do sell them, not enough of the revenue is reinvested into the playing squad. This is an unsustainable policy in my opinion and isn’t Martinez’s fault at all.
whenever we go to a 4-4-2 formation i think we play really well, so i feel bobby needs to get rid off his stubborness & try it for a few games – what more is there to lose (apart from more points). fortune allegedly favours the brave!!
some on here have said that the players we have are sh1te – personally i feel that is harsh. i feel we have a decent(ish) team & create some good attacking chances, but something is not working, whether its bobby, tactics, the dressing room being lost, all 3. i’m not really sure, apart from the obvious not putting away chances.
