We have quite a few. Morsy Colclough McKay being three of them. When we sent them out it was to give them experience (Or so they said.). If we end up in League one that experience could help us bounce back again and it would save bringing in new players. Who knows in Morsys case he could be looking at us in league one or wanting away to Barnsley who potentially could be a Premier League side.

I would get all three tat you mentioned back now if possible.

Can’t be done, horc, I’m afraid.
Although it’s termed a “loan” it is in fact a temporary contract allowing a player registered at one club to play for another. It is a contract for a set time (half a season or season), and will include details of payments to be made and whether the importing club will have the option to buy at the end of the period. During the period of that contract he cannot play for his owning club.So it’s not, I’m afraid, like lending your lawn mower to the man next door and asking for it back whenever you want – it is a contractual piece of business.

That’s unfortunate, I just hoped they might have been half season loans or set amount of time loans (3 months/6 months or until the end of the year).
Oh well, we will have to muster on the best we can.31 December 2016 at 6:39 pm #153606Still he will be back next season but chances are not back. So much for going away to get experience for our sake. Yet again with him Colclough and Pearce a rather misty haze of why they went. Didn’t get on with Caldwell by any chance????

Colclough and Hendry returned, get Morsy back as well.
It would be madness not to have a return clause written in to a loan contract, that said these players shouldnt have been loaned out in the first place.
Fuck the EFL

Would we have wanted that written into a contract for Yanic last year?
1 January 2017 at 11:54 pm #153623It’s strange how the loan market works these days. At one time players used to be loaned or loaned out for short periods of 1-3 months as cover. Nowadays it’s really because squads are too big and players loaned out to get games. All clubs should have much smaller squads. 1 to stop clubs with money monopolising all the young talent around and 2 to keep costs down for clubs. It seems crazy that Chelsea can have and own all those players and equally crazy that Latics on our budget have such a huge money leaching first team squad.

He was only on loan until January. Went back and then we signed him.
