Surely if he isn’t fit enough to be considered for a start, he shouldn’t even be on the bench should he?

He’s probably referring to match fitness Lincs? We’ve got a fair few injuries at the moment as well so probably had to have him on the bench.
I too think it sends the wrong impression. If the guy is fit enough to play then play him.

Better to have the option on the bench though than not have anyone.
Being fit enough to start and fit enough to sit on the bench are a World of difference.
