25 October 2025 at 12:56 pm #206336Just back of jollies……switch tv on ….1st impressions 15 mins ??…Saydee looks slower than me…..hasn’t won a header for christ knows how long and is free kick nearly every time he backs into someone…..I’ve been very disappointed with him for a few games now. Cooper ? International my arse………..Every team we play looks better on the ball than us. Some of our passes when pressing are too bad to be true. Can certainly get something but with just Saydee ,no pace up front then it needs a midfielder to press further forward. 25 October 2025 at 1:04 pm #206337F### me…..Goal from Saydee losing the ball. Get him off,Mullen or Asamoah far more effective. 25 October 2025 at 1:15 pm #206338- Mullen,or Asamoah on……..we look pathetic. Cooper,Weir look non league standard…..half time needs another striker on …..but that can’t cure some of the junior school passing. Hungbo struggles to pass a man…..let’s be real…..we look relegation material. Im sorry buy all the ballyhoo about Saydee is way off the mark.
25 October 2025 at 1:28 pm #206339Absolutely dreadful……..manager needs to stop starting Saydee. Since Doncaster he hasn’t won a header…..no pace….every defender picking him up puts him in his pocket. In fact we must have league 1s worst stats for winning header all over the pitch.. Pace is king. …with no Costelloe (Who frankly has also been disappointing)………then Asamoah should have started……..and Mullen will score more than Saydee and Costelloe together…..holds the ball better than either of those 2……….hoped to go in half time 0-0…..uphill now. Mansfield must be thinking how easy this is………massive improvement needed.and a player shake up. 25 October 2025 at 1:47 pm #206340We are getting right royally fucked over with decisions from corners. Their guy fell over and ref disallows the goal Fuming 25 October 2025 at 2:30 pm #206341Lowe blew it 1st half ….1 striker….no pace….granted poor ref for disallowed goal…….but did we deserve win ,?……… 25 October 2025 at 4:39 pm #206342Mansfield must be wondering how they dropped points today.
Shocking performance , players lagging back and nearly every second ball won by them and some notably lazy in some quarters.Thats one of the worst performances of the season in my view and we play like against Hemel then we might have very red faces next Saturday night. -

25 October 2025 at 11:27 pm #206345Don’t agree with you Brownbill on Weir, think he’s stepped up last few games. Too many others definitely cruising through games though 26 October 2025 at 5:53 am #206346Have to agree although Weirs no Ronaldo he always puts himself about and does alot of the boring stuff. But overall the straight matter of fact is the squad is poor that’s the simple truth. Too many times I see the very very basic stuff like a simple 10-15 yard passes go astray or players that are unable to get a ball under control it’s frightening. These are the very basics of football stuff your taught when your 6 but some of our players still haven’t mastered this ancient art. Then there’s the thinking before you receive so you’ve an idea were the balls going before you received it but if you, Can’t pass it Can’t trap it And don’t know were it’s gonna go before you get it ?, You have absolutely no chance of building side not a cat in hells chance. This is simply down to the quality of the individual player and I feel some of ours (not all) are not even L2 level and I mean that. When Portsmouth let us have Saydee and their fans gave glowing reports I thought , ummmmm, why?. That first game I was thinking we’ve pulled a coupe off there but slowly we all can see there was no method in their madness they let a very average player go, hes simply not good enough. I think since that first game I’ve seen a handful of minutes were he’s actually played well the rest he offers very little and super easy to defend against hence why he struggles, he’s so poor I’d go as far to say he’s not even at non league level at his best. Clubs like Portsmouth wouldn’t let a half decent prospect go that’s unless they knew he can’t cut the mustard. They knew exactly what they were doing shrewd business on their part while we clutched at straws in hope. Hungbo blows hotter and colder than a blacksmiths tongues and as for Costelloe ? we have better in our U21’s any other side he’d be dropped and wouldn’t make the bench. I’m not sure what his role is another who’s super easy to mark. There’s plenty more in the side I could mention but like I say the big burning million dollar questions are :- 1) Are some players just not performing 2) Are they playing at their max but are simply not good enough and L1 is a level too high for them ? Or 3) Has Lowes poor man management skills which has recently come to the fore with his TV criticism and he’s lost the changing room ? Some people criticise Lowe, tactially he’s tried it all, 1 up front 2 up 3 up 3 at back 4 & 5 all with mixed results but his man management skills are questionable and dubious and have me worried as a lost changing room seems to be on the horizon. So up front Saydee & Mullin together is like oil & water. I wouldn’t say there not reading from the same page I’d go as far to say there in different libraries. At times there so far part it’s scary. They should be looking for each other, playing off the back of one another but at times it looks like 2 individual forwards on the pitch doing their own thing. There so far apart at times ones on one wing the others on the other and the hole of Calcutta in the middle. You cannot play any 2 of those 3 forwards together they do not compliment each other in any shape or form any partnership any 2 from 3 does not work that’s a fact. For me it’s Geldhart 2 time were we drag a wet nosed young lad out the youth and throw him in the deep end. And why do I say this you might ask?, well because we have no money and an owner who wants Michelin 4 star food with reduced priced date up end of freezer ingredients. The teams not been clod together it’s been thrown together from the top of the tall flats in Scholes. It’s a hotch botch of unwanted players with no value bar 2 who don’t look happy which Lowe has confirmed is the case with some who cannot wait till the season ends. Come summer 2026 there’ll be the usual 15-18 gone either contracts up or sold (Tickle Carragher) and this yearly cycle carries on with no aim or long term plan. I’m sorry but I can’t keep thanking Danson for saving us, thats well behind us at some point we need to build not botch a side. As it stands looking at the current crop, the levels of some of them we’ll be lucky to make top half. I spoke with a couple of lads in their mid 20’s and their picking and choosing. -

26 October 2025 at 6:50 am #206348But just back to the subject of managers and Lowe, I personally feel he’s not the right man and I will explain why. I think there’s this fine balance of bringing a team together and over bossing ruling with a hammer. Neil Warnock was the master of the fine art of man management. He’d go into clubs were the changing had long gone been lost and with the same group of players he bring it together in weeks like a top cars salesman, gift of the gab. When Lowe first came I thought, he talks well probably too well, uses the word m8 alot abit boy’ish and he likes to come across as one of the boys but I think that’s far from the truth. He reminds me of an old warehouse boss I had. He’d talk well, laugh joke make you feel and think he’s one of the warehouse lads but cross his path he’d come down on you like a tonne of bricks then the next day try to be that pally best m8 again after docking you 2 hours for being 2 minutes late and verbally roasting you, that’s how Lowe comes across to me. I think the image he portrays for the cameras is not the same one he bosses the players with far far from it. His comments the other week set my alarms bells off when he pointed out certain individuals (without naming) not picking up not performing and they’ll be out. Tactially I really can’t grumble with his approach, he’s never been scared to make changes and his subs are normally the right ones at the right time given what he has to choose from. He mixes it up and to be fair it’s a far cry from Maloney’s stuck in the mud approach were change was a dirty word. The problem seems to be these players don’t want to max out for him, they won’t run through brick walls for Lowe or each other and it’s showing badly on the field. There’s an awful lot to be said about how a manager deals with difficult times and players. There’s a few rumours doing the rounds about player v manager ding dongs taking place few things thrown and I don’t think Lowe is the type to kiss n make up he’ll punish first and hold that grudge while looking like everything’s fine behind the scenes for the cameras. I watched this thing on Stoke this season and they reckon the team spirit and bonding at the club is the best it’s been for over a decade. Every players giving their all. they all get on like a house on fire a proper team spirit on and off the pitch and it’s showing sitting 5th in the Championship. There’s an awful lot to be said about the changing room harmony, that feels good factor and right now it doesn’t look or feel like we’ve any. There’s so much that needs fixing at the club because fans and players alike are losing that passion and it’s showing in our performances and the alot of fans have turned their backs on the club. There’s so much wrong with the club from the top to the bottom it will take an almighty effort to put right and I don’t think I’ll ever see those dizzy Premiership heights back at the club. The perfect scenario would be a hybrid version of Maloney’s passion for the club, his player understanding and management skills coupled with Lowes never scared of change and no fear a formation change and sub when it’s needed. Just a shame Maloney read too deep into the Martinez and Guardiola handbook on how to play the game or he’d have been a total sucess. -

27 October 2025 at 11:32 am #206353Good posts on here…..can’t disagree. Recruitment my issue. When Maloney went the recruitment team should have followed. Some of the players we’ve brought in are just about borderline league 1 ,some not even that. Most the teams we’ve played this season irrespective of league position have passed better, broke quicker, won most 2nd balls and looked more comfortable on the ball. First half Saturday was as bad as I can remember for a long time. Forget team selection, tactics…..this was players unable to do the absolute basics…..pass a ball ,control a ball, win a header……beat a man. Saydee as lone striker was a managerial masterclass of how not to score. As I’ve posted previously Saydee looks terrible…….not a chance of getting in goalscoring positions ,particularly with the Hungbo zero service. Mullen is twice the striker…..can’t understand some supporters who seem to be critical Mullen when he gets 10 mins but Saydee can have a mare for 90 and still cream themselves about “a great signing “. Given service Mullen will get 15 or more goals. That comes from experience and a natural finisher. Saydee,Costelloe for all their minutes on the pitch have a shocking goal rate. As A supporter I really want every player to shine and don’t like singling any out for criticism but Lowe like a lot of managers has his favs and even when struggling they still get a start .Ultimately I think we haven’t recruited much quality and Saturday will probably be how our season will go. Like all of us I’d love to proved wrong and make a rush for the play off but Saturday hit home to me how average we are……..Hemel Hempstead scouts won’t have seen anything to concern them………..surely our Wonderful FA Cup tradition won’t be p##### on by weakened selections or players in no hurry to make round 2……..that will really upset the natives!!!!…….Need a big improvement.
