Former Wigan Athletic striker Marlon King is reportedly being chased by Championship club Coventry City who would like him to join them once he is released from prison.
King was sent down and subsequently sacked by the Latics last October after being found guilty of assaulting a woman in a London nightclub and he is due to be set free any time soon despite serving just half of his 18 month stretch.
Coventry are managed by King`s former boss at Watford Aidy Bothroyd who is looking to renew old acquaintances in the East Midlands.

Er, cos amongst other things, he’s a decent championship striker who could still do a job for somebody like Coventry.
i can see a court case looming here, ‘adrian mutu’ style, cant see whelan letting this just go ahead without some form of financial recompence from either coventry or king himself.
Can’t see that Whelan has a leg to stand on really. He was the one who insisted on his contract being cancelled, wasn’t he?
Anyway, stop distracting me from laughing at the French :lol: It’s screwing up my predictions good and proper but very funny, nevertheless
They just hit the post aswell loving the scoreline 2 more goals and SA could go through!
It was nearly three then, I didn’t think another team could make us look half decent, it seems that the French are determined to be considered the worst (and funniest) team at these finals.

Funny watching the French go out, but I had them in the £5 a team office sweep, where they completed my quartet of teams alongside Japan, Switzerland and Honduras. Never did I think that Japan would be best chance of getting anything back from my £20.
To change the subject somewhat from France & Marlon King but sticking with world cup predictions, I did an accumulator before the tournament on group winners.
It would have been nailed on (well providing England win today & the US draw or lose) to bring in several hundred pounds but whilst in the bookies filling out the form I had second thoughts about putting Uruguay down to win that group & changed my pick to Mexico
