The game against Preston North End at Deepdale in 1985, saw Latics run out 5-2 winners and help send our Lancashire rivals down to the Fourth Division. The goal scorers that day were Paul Jewell, John Butler, Mike Newell and 2 from Graham Barrow, the crowd was 4,875.
