Jewell and Newell. Good players. Was he playing golf or planting your gorse plants?
28 October 2016 at 10:59 pm #151922He had just finished. Cracking bloke, talking about the team then. Tony Kelly was mentioned and how he could have been a top class player but for his liking of something too much.
29 October 2016 at 1:13 am #151926Always said Kelly should have played for England, could have been anything he wanted to be that lad. Brilliant passer of a ball and wasn’t bad at a set-piece either

29 October 2016 at 1:55 pm #151931That whole team was something special boy did we have some good players back then. Proper football not pass for passing sake.
29 October 2016 at 2:21 pm #151932Let’s hope Yoothas lad wants to play in that mode.
Mr Newell certainly wasn’t a fan of this modern day sideways and backwards possession game from what he was saying yesterday.29 October 2016 at 2:40 pm #151934Let’s hope Yoothas lad wants to play in that mode.

29 October 2016 at 6:14 pm #151939Mike Newell wasn’t a fan of the tippy tappy from how our conversation went.
Just hoping Yootha Joyce’s lad isn’t either.29 October 2016 at 8:20 pm #151943That whole team was something special boy did we have some good players back then. Proper football not pass for passing sake.I agree wholeheartedly with that. One of my all time favourite latics teams that one. Such a shame we had to sell those players in order to keep the club alive. Had we not have had to sell them, i personally believe that team could have achieved more than the freight rover trophy.
