Is it true that Dave Whelan called for the FA to hold a mandatory minutes silence when Thatcher died? Somebody was telling me this the other day, thankfully the FA ignored his pathetic suggestion! If this is actually true then what a naive fool he is for such a ludicrous idea, which really if the truth be known would have been nothing more than a thinly veiled publicity stunt! :dry:

Yes, he did suggest it. I nearly stopped going to the DW. On another forum I suggested we should have had a minutes cheering. It’d probably be a bit harsh to say it didn’t come a minute too soon, so I wont say that.
In hindsight it would have been a brilliant move to have removed Thatcher but unfortunately living in a democracy the people just kept keeping her.Shame really because we could have become an impoverished country like Spain and The Irish Republic and took money from Europe rather than give it to bolster our economy. As for Dave Whelan and his comments…well that’s Dave.
