How can I get the “Im on my way”, Dean Parish changed to Sweet Disposition, Temper Trap. Who do I ask at DW ? :shifty:
19 February 2011 at 4:41 am #60012Unless Russ Winstanley has started DJing at the DW stadium, I think you’re wasting your time.
19 February 2011 at 11:09 am #60018Agreed, SW. You have to have a certain amount of clout to have any influence on the Playlist.
19 February 2011 at 12:29 pm #60023Wouldn’t mind an airing of the original “Come On You Latics”, from 1987.
“Paul Jewell, David Lowe, Andy Holden, Barry Knowles…
….someday go to Wembley…..win the FA CUP!”.
The second version of it with John Finch, was just woeful!
I had the original on single vinyl for years, before I decided to use it as a frisbee, and totally shattered the Record. (Norris McWhirter would have loved it! )
The songs played now ‘Keep the Faith’ and even ‘Let’s Hang On’ have been done to death, now. My earphones go on at halftime for a random choice from my MP3 player. :character-beavisbutthead:
19 February 2011 at 2:10 pm #60028why not have thunderstruck by ac/dc on there, try get all wigan fans to join in and where they shout thunder shout wigan,
20 February 2011 at 1:19 pm #60068Jways. I know we’ve no game but I despair of this thread. I’m On MyWay is part of the town’s history. Although, I’ve often felt that Move On Upby Curtis Mayfield would be the most appropriate running-out tune.
20 February 2011 at 1:34 pm #60069I am still trying to convince the powers that be that “I Go To Pieces” – whilst a great song – sends out the wrong message.
Move On Up is a good call

Can’t beat a bit of Curtis Mayfield. When I do a disco, ‘Move On Up’ is a song I always play. I have found that Charlotte Church’s ‘Crazy Chick’ mixes in fantastically at the end. (weird mix, I know, but it works!)
There were, and probably still are, some good clips of Mayfield doing the song live, on Youtube.
21 February 2011 at 12:58 am #60136Would of liked this on at the Bolton game.
One for the Wanderers fans ;)
21 February 2011 at 11:50 am #60147“Move On Up” whilst considered a soul classic is a bit wet & high pitched to work the Latics faithful into a frenzy
How about blaring out “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath as the teams come out of the tunnel. Surely that’d get even the west stand codgers up & rockin for the lads!!
21 February 2011 at 1:03 pm #60149I feel compelled to suggest ” Down Down ” by Status Quo !! :music-deathmetal:
PS. Status Quo are cack by the way !!
