In all honesty, I think they get bored once the pop and crisps have gone. Just be prepared for plenty of “Is it nearly finished yet?” and “Can we go home now?” when there’s half the game left.
Scientists reckon kids don’t get ‘in to’ football until the age of about 7. I am inclined to think they are right.
Get em wrapped up good too!

27 October 2012 at 10:43 pm #95771I got box (or whatever it’s called in one of the suites) tickets given to me for my birthday a few years ago, and I took my six week old son. We got to meet Kirkland after the match, and he had just become a dad again around the same time – so he had his picture taken with him, and as I handed him my son – I just couldn’t resist and said ‘Dont drop him’!

28 October 2012 at 11:13 pm #95809i remember my dad taking me to springfield park in the non league days when i was young, i wasnt interested in the game and i remember being cold and wanting to go home. he also took me to wembley to the 1973 f a trophy final against scarborough although i cant remember much of the day except we lost in extra time. fast forward to 1992 the company i work for took on some new staff, one of the quality control blokes was called albert, he was a big bloke with curly hair and a tash. he quickly latched on to my latics picture and said he used to play for them, first i thought what a bullshiter but new the names of the old players in the 70’s. i asked someone what his name was and it was non other than albert jackson, captain of the wembley team in 73. we had some good chats and always asked about the games at the weekends. he left a couple of years later but it always makes me smile when i see old photos like the one in the wep a few weekes back scoring the winner against shrewsbury in a fa cup game.
29 October 2012 at 12:04 am #95811Sympathy vote time here – but when I was little (and we are talking 1950s here) I always wanted my Dad to take me to Anfield. He always promised, but never did. I really wish he had.
Enjoy taking your kids to football.
Yes – they will get bored, want to know when it’s orange juice time, want to wander off.
But they will be so grateful later as you will have given them a life time obsession.
And if they’re not you can always leave them out of your will :)
