29 December 2016 at 7:44 pm #153558I am sure he will have already have put some plans in place to ensure his empire and his football club and Wigan as a town will continue to thrive once he is no longer here to drive it all forward.
The problem we all have is not knowing what is going on and how it all might pan out.
Oh he’ll have plans set out that’s for sure, as you pointed out, he’s not got were he is by throwing money at money and were no different.
Once he see”s that financially we can’t stand on our own 2 feet he’ll pull the plug and flog us on.
Remember JJB”s ? enough said. For me an academy should have been kick started once we were in our 2nd or 3rd year in the Prem. This way we’d be reaping the benefits now. The golf course was all a front, that was bought with one thing in mind, houses.29 December 2016 at 9:26 pm #153559Never get houses on that land unless he bribes a few people.
Turn it back into a golf course.
29 December 2016 at 10:15 pm #153564No, not much chance of houses there. Who actually owns the site? Is it one of the Whelan Family companies or Latics. If it belonged to one of the other companies then they would have developed it then rented it to us a bit like Euxton or the stadium although that is a company with our name on it but a different one to the football side of things even though it was the football side of things that put in money from the sale of Springfield Park and attracted grants. However the development was mothballed after relegation from the Premium so it would have been money from us that was to have developed it. All sounds like money just swishing around in all sorts of company names so how about a bit more going into a transfer kitty.

The rainy day fund if you will.
