Bit pointless I know, as it’s all guesswork, but if we stay up do you think;
1. We will keep our manager
2. If not where will he go?
3. Which players are likely to go?Not going to ask who we will buy cos the usual out of price range candidates will be spouted along with the expert (based on Fifa 12) opinions on random players.
For me, as much as I want to keep Bob, I think he will leave. There will be a big managerial shake up in the Prem over the summer and he will get tempted away. Not sure where, maybe Vila will come calling again? Spurs? Whichever club it is, I think the prospect of losing a few good players, having to start all over again with no budget, struggle until the new team ‘clicks’ late in the season and maybe scraping survival again will not be appealing for him. He’s loyal, but not stupid.
Players going probably includes Moses, Diame, Rodellega, one of McArthur or McCarthy and Al Habsi. We will not turn away big bids and I reckon Ali could attract a big bid.
Hope I’m wrong on all of the above.

Let me make this easy for you.
1. Go to a neighbour and ask if they have any books (paper things with words on the pages).
2. If they do, ask if they have a dictionary.
3. Ask them to look up irony for you.
4. Get them to explain it to you.
5. Read your post again and see if you finally get it.By the way, if you also get them to look up ‘pointless’ don’t be surprised to see Wiganmon as the definition.

19 April 2012 at 1:16 am #85483Never thought I’d say this, but I’m with Wiganmon on this one, pointless thread, especially as we’re not guaranteed to stay up yet.

I started by saying it’s a bit pointless and everyone is agreeing with me.
Thanks for the contributions.

I don’t think Martinez will go anywhere and I reckon the only players who will go are Rodallega and Diame, and even they might stay if we stay up.

Hope you’re right. Can’t help but think Roberto will feel his ‘project’ is at its end.
19 April 2012 at 2:15 am #85497He has been quoted as saying he still feels there is a job to do here and that as long as Dave Whelan is here, he will show him loyalty.
Normally a man of his word.
19 April 2012 at 4:29 am #85536We don’t need to sell as much as we have done in the past, and when Kirkland moves on at the end of the season, that’s another hefty salary off the books.
Rodallega is a dead cert to go, with speculation about Diame, Moses and McCarthy – which will hopefully lead to nothing.
As there’s a good chance of there being a closing down sale at Rangers, and with the Scottish lads in our squad being the quickest to adapt to the Premier League, I wouldn’t mind the club getting hold of Stevie Naismith – who can score goals, and/or Steven Whittaker – who is a decent right back or right midfielder.

Naismith would be an ok buy I think
19 April 2012 at 11:56 am #85545I don’t think Bobby will go anywhere this summer although if Latics recent improvement continues I think he may be tempted away next summer.
Of the current squad I think Diame (who from rumours I have heard is all but agreed to go to Newcastle or Everton (can’t remember which), Rodallega, Kirkland, Thomas, Stam & Gohouri will be looking to move on. I think the only possible big money departure from Latics could be Moses
