Club insiders are today stating that reports of a strike by Charles N’Zogbia are wide of the mark.
N’Zogbia was left out of the squad for the visit of Blackpool at the weekend as manager Roberto Martinez said he wasn’t ‘mentally ready’. The papers have been full of reports that the Frenchman went on strike after handing in a transfer request.
However insiders at the DW Stadium are adament that N’Zogbia hasn’t handed such a request in and was left out of the squad after a meeting with Martinez on Friday.
The outcome of the meeting has yet to be revealed, but N’Zogbia is said to have asked for a move, whilst Martinez has pleaded the virtues of remaining with the Latics until at least January.
Juventus, Birmingham, Marseille, Sunderland, and Arsenal have all been linked with a move for the winger.
As ever, we will keep you up to date with developments as and when we get them.
Fantastic cover-up tbh…Then again we will never know the real reason!

17 August 2010 at 11:55 pm #43067Is anyone going to boo Charlie on saturday like people did to Zaki a few times ?
We should want him to be encouraged, if he plays well and we beat Chelsea, he can sod off for £12 mil.
We still need another Striker and a Left Back though.
