Anyone else tried this yet?
First impressions were that it’s fairly cheap at £2.39 and looks quite good.
However, after using it I have to say, “Don’t bother!”
As far as I can see it’s simply the official website presented slightly differently.
If you subscribe to the normal official site you can watch video interviews and match highlights and that’s the same on the iPhone, except you have to take out ANOTHER subscription. You can’t simply use the one you already have!
That’s just plain madness as you can simply use the iPhone to connect to the official site anyway and dispense with the app, or the extra subscription.
If anyone else does try it and finds different I’d be happy to be proved wrong.
1 August 2010 at 11:47 am #41428It’s only £2.39 if you want see the video content i think. Basic news is free. I think once you subscribe it’s actually £2.39 per month!!
Bit rich for my tastes to be honest

Are you sure?
It’s £2.39 to download the app then when you try to view video you’re blocked until you subscribe. It actually states you need a premium tv mobile subscription.
The £2.39 is a one-off fee for the app.

Yes, I am now sure that you DO have to pay £2.39. Just seen the iTunes receipt
Sorry for the confusion. Stop me if I get too intelligent for you all
So, on reflection – yes, it’s very expensive
