Jamie Carragher has an explanation for the Germans’ flying start to the World Cup – they’ve been playing with the Jabulani ball for five months.
The Jabulani is manufactured in Germany by adidas and has been used in the Bundesliga since February.
It would certainly explain why the Germans are the only team so far who seem to have mastered crossing the controversial ball. They are the only team so far to have scored more than twice – beating Australia 4-0.
Carragher said: “It gives them an advantage, that’s obvious. The ball is so inconsistent you don’t know what it’s going to do.
“It makes it difficult – which is the same for every team except Germany.”
