new goalie (somebody kept calling him alan) looks quite able
young left back (no. 23) looked composed on the ball and defended well
in midfield gahouri looks a bit like kapo but runs around a lot more
boselli likes to have a shot whenever he gets a chance
gomez had at least 3 good minutes at the start of the 2nd half21 July 2010 at 4:32 pm #40663Now for a view from someone without a blindfold.
“new goalie (somebody kept calling him alan) looks quite able”
Thought he was poor. Couple of fumbles and looked shakey on crosses. Mike Pollitt was alot more comfortable in the 2nd half.
“young left back (no. 23) looked composed on the ball and defended well”
Jordan Mustoe? He was to eager to impress. Couple of poorly timed tackles. Gave the ball away one to many times. Alot to learn.
“in midfield gahouri looks a bit like kapo but runs around a lot more”
Gahouri didn’t play last night. The number 22 was a trialist. His name escapes me. Anyway, he was terrible. Amazed if we sign him.
“boselli likes to have a shot whenever he gets a chance”
Missed a sitter which Scotland would have put away. This guy needs someone to play along side him. He doesn’t have the strength to play as a lone striker. He will score goals, but not on his own.
“gomez had at least 3 good minutes at the start of the 2nd half”
You must have taken your blindfold off at this point because its the only thing i agree with you on.

Thankyou Alan Hansen
21 July 2010 at 4:39 pm #40668I wouldn’t worry a jot about what happens in pre-season friendlies.

Another positive – we wont be playing them in the league this year as we are in the premiership
22 July 2010 at 4:09 pm #40817Bury battered Leeds.
Huddersfield beat Blackburn.
Barnet beat Watford.
Liverpool hung on for a draw at Grasshopper.
Wigan drew with Oldham at Boundary Park. :oDoesn’t sound so bad now does it ?
22 July 2010 at 4:51 pm #40830I thought the trialist (Sekou) had a very good game. Especially in the 1st half playing next to Diame (the 2 are very similar).
In the 2nd half he went a little quieter (fitness???) but managed the full 90 mins. Gomez looked half decent, Scotland looks slower and bigger than last season, keeper was ok (not much to do – had no chance with goal), the kids played well, Moses was a different class, the other trialist looked half decent, Bosselli should have scored but showed class, Boyce lead the team well and overall we did ok considering it was just a training exercise.
