30 September 2016 at 2:13 am #151130Disgusting. Why are clubs trying to put fans off going??

Fuck the EFL
30 September 2016 at 3:59 am #151136To be fair, who is going to wake up Saturday morning and think… Oh I think I’ll go to watch Wigan at Brentford. Could happen locally but not down there
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
30 September 2016 at 2:30 pm #151141Cod Chips and Peas at Sharpies chippy used to be £3 a portion if you paid for 23 portions in advance. If you called in and ordered,it was then £12 a portion. Dropping in off the street it then became £14.
Ordering by phone incurred a booking charge of £1-50.
Think that’s why customers stopped going in.30 September 2016 at 4:07 pm #151142Cod Chips and Peas at Sharpies chippy used to be £3 a portion if you paid for 23 portions in advance. If you called in and ordered,it was then £12 a portion. Dropping in off the street it then became £14.

Think that’s why customers stopped going in.Lets be serious about this, the fact that you have to pay £5 extra for paying on the gate will probably stop zero people from going.
If you can be arsed or afford to travel down to London [cost of train , coach or car], pay £4.50 a pint, and pay £8 for a burger and coffee, paying an extra £5 on the door is fek aw in the scheme of things.
IMHO I think we should applaud Brentford football club for giving our fans the chance to see the game if they have not got a ticket. BFC will be forking out for the extra staff to run the pay gates even though they will probably be sitting there scratching their todgers for a couple of hours.
The only losers in this situation when you look at it sensibly, will probably be Brentford Football club. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!30 September 2016 at 7:48 pm #151145Tickets are also available on match days for home fans at five pounds extra.
30 September 2016 at 11:27 pm #151150No matter what anyone thinks, any extra charge for people paying on the day whether home or away fans is wrong, it’s just another rip off of fans, and will only help to drive even more fans away.
The matchday pricing even at our club is too much as it is without making it even more expensive for a casual fan or a non season ticket holder.
I have to admit, if I wasn’t a season ticket holder even I, who has watched the lads for 50 years would have my reservations at paying £26 for a match.
I am sure with the money in the game these days £20 is enough for non season ticket holders, and it would surely go some way to help generate new fans and get old fans that have turned thier backs on football to return.
It must be worth a try, as the pricing structure for non season ticket holders and pay on the day punters doesn’t look to be working at the moment.

Or perhaps its a cherry for the fans who go to most matches, to buy a ticket in advance, can’t see what the problem is.
Out of interest, how many of you who are aggrieved by this pay extra on the day, are going to the game and paid for your ticket in advance.?
For those who are not going to the game, how many of you are not going because its a fiver extra if you pay on the day?
I really think that some people moan for moaning sake.
Its like me moaning about the price to go and watch a film at the pictures, however, I had no intention of going in the first place.
I stick by what I said, good on Brentford for putting on extra turnstile staff to allow for pay on the day.

What a journey!1 October 2016 at 4:46 am #151155I cant agree with charging an extra fiver for turnstile staff to man the gates, simple reason they won’t put on extra staff on the chance that not many turn up on the day.
And why should someone pay more than someone else for a seat to watch the same game? I stick to what i said too its a way of making a few extra quid out of long suffering fans or mugs.
Fuck the EFL
1 October 2016 at 1:19 pm #151156It is not the fans fault that players, coaches and managers are played far too much!!!
That even applies in the lower leagues.
I would say thirty to thirty five grand a year is a big salary. Many players are earning this a week and a lot more. Lots of players are earning this a month. Unholy amounts.
It is such a shame that whenever TV revenue rises it just by-passes the clubs and straight into the players pockets.1 October 2016 at 4:48 pm #151159No matter what anyone thinks, any extra charge for people paying on the day whether home or away fans is wrong, it’s just another rip off of fans, and will only help to drive even more fans away.

Whether you were planning to go or not, would it cost £5 more if I paid at the door tonight to watch the same film that you rang up to book a ticket to watch?
If it did, and the same film was on at Bolton or Preston but there was no extra charge for you, the wife and kids to pay at the door, would you a casual film watcher go to watch the film at one of the other venues, or would you be happy to pay the extra £20?
