All credit to those that made the trip up to yesterday, 600 mile round trip.
I managed to speak to a few of them in the Supporters Bar before the game and they were a cracking set.
Not sure 330 of us would have gone down there if we were in the position they are in.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
27 September 2017 at 7:32 pm #162251Had a little chuckle seeing the shirtless gang but fair play to them that’s one hell of a journey for a midweek league one match.
27 September 2017 at 10:59 pm #162253No but 330 of them didn’t travel all the way from Devon. I spoke to a family group who had travelled 10 miles. I suspect many others were exiles living in the North. Fair do to the ones that did.
28 September 2017 at 12:33 am #162255Yep hats off defo going there place.
28 September 2017 at 12:58 am #162257Whoever planned the fixtures needs their P45. I understand that most away games for Plymouth are a long way, but surely they could be given fixtures against Bristol Rovers, Oxford etc on midweek nights rather than a trip to Wigan!

I understand that most away games for Plymouth are a long way, but surely they could be given fixtures against Bristol Rovers, Oxford etc on midweek nights rather than a trip to Wigan!Didn’t the EFL in their ultimate wisdom decide a couple of years ago that fixtures would be planned so the longest trips would be midweek? The plan was the derby and other shorter travels could be done on a weekend when more fans could travel.
Basically the away fixtures would be for the many, not the few. May be this works, May be it doesn’t. Cast your vote :woohoo:
28 September 2017 at 1:16 pm #162260We do like to big up the long journeys in English football. Hats off the Plymouth fans who did come but we forget that England is a small country compared to some of the others. Plymouth to Wigan a long way yes but its hardly Lille to Bordeaux or Schalke to Munich. Having said that these games should still not be midweek with our road system which is appalling. A little care when compiling the fixtures wouldn’t be a hardship would it.?

28 September 2017 at 5:00 pm #162266That Sakhalin sounds like a great place would make a brilliant venue for the gypos to build their own stadium. At least they would have a decent excuse for them all being in the pub on match days.
28 September 2017 at 6:03 pm #162269Not sure about the benefits of long midweek trips.
Would the Plymouth team not stop over incurring extra accommodation and travel costs.
It looks like the National league plan their midweek fixtures in the same way, 5th April last year saw Barrow v Braintree Torquay v Chester Altrincham v Dover Halifax v Boreham Wood and Aldershot v Grimsby, and Lowestoft of the National League North(yes Lowestoft are north) played at Harrogate.
At least it wasn’t Winter.28 September 2017 at 6:29 pm #162270The National league is a strange one VA&L, some teams are moved from North to South depending on promotion and relegation issues. Nuneaton are another club who could be North one year and South the next.
1 October 2017 at 3:16 pm #162313Slightly different take on Plymouth fans traveling to away games and distance travelled, just been planning our away knees ups and in the new year weve got Bristol Rovers Plymouth and Southend all our first away games in the new year, how many of our fans will attend those games after Christmas, me and dearest are in.
